@SteveReedMP Get knotted. He needs to go. 99% of the country can’t stand him. Isn’t that obvious???

This is not a game. This instability has consequences for people’s lives. The people who will be hurt most will be those that elected us less than two years ago. We must unite behind the Prime Minister.
Paul Johnson@PJTheEconomist

Starmer and Reeves are not kidding when they say this political uncertainty causes economic damage. The only “reset” being achieved at the moment is higher borrowing costs. Result? We’re all worse off. So deeply depressing.

It's quite wrong for people to say that Keir Starmer is a dead man walking. That's not true. He's a dead man crawling.

@JohnSlinger You are in a very tiny minority. Maybe just you and Starmer left. He’s awful and has to go. Now.

I haven't ever equivocated or hedged my bets about whether Keir Starmer should remain Prime Minister. I've always been clear: he must stay. Here's why.

@wesstreeting Your time is now (or never). Get on with it. Someone has to be strong where everyone else is weak. Starmer is beyond awful and has to go. I am not a labour supporter but cannot stand hearing his boring voice any more. Rayner-no thanks!

@KirstieMAllsopp @Keir_Starmer @RachelReevesMP I genuinely think that governments around the world only want to have highly regulated, highly controllable large businesses that wipe out small businesses. So they are quite happy when small businesses go to the wall.

What @Keir_Starmer & his team don’t understand is that many voters know that their security is linked to their employer’s security, when @RachelReevesMP cripples small businesses & piles on taxes voters know that we’re all put at risk. Without small businesses there is no future

I’m delighted to appoint @HarrietHarman as my Adviser on Women and Girls. Harriet is a strong advocate for women and girls and I know she will deliver greater opportunity for women in public life. I’m committed to tackling structural misogyny that is a barrier for too many women and girls. I look forward to working with Harriet to drive forward action on this important issue.

@RupertLowe10 Fantastic Rupert. Shame there were no Restore candidates in my area. But hopefully in the future there will be. Best of luck.

History made. We won ten out of ten seats, with overwhelming majorities in every single one. Great Yarmouth First, then we Restore Britain. A very special day.

Thanks to the all Labour activists out campaigning today. We were elected to change this country, two years in we’ve got a lot done, and we’ve got lots more to do. The Prime Minister and the whole cabinet is focussed on delivering on the change we promised to the country.

These are tough results for Labour. There’s no sugarcoating it. We’ve lost brilliant Labour representatives who’ve stood up for their communities. People are still frustrated. Their lives aren’t changing fast enough. We haven’t offered enough hope or optimism for the future. I was elected to change this country - tough days like this don’t weaken my determination to do that. They strengthen it.

I am deeply concerned about the terrorist attack that took place today. This is not an isolated incident. It is the latest in a spate of utterly vile attacks on the Jewish community. I’ve just chaired an emergency COBR meeting and tomorrow I’ll be bringing together criminal justice agencies to ensure we have effective and swift justice.

@LeeAndersonMP_ @AllisonPearson The whole benefits system is fatally flawed. Sends the message “why bother working”. Needs complete reform but that will never happen. No political will.

Just throwing this one out there as I was asked this question earlier today. A couple both working with a combined income of £50,000 would pay £11,500 a year in income tax and national insurance, Another couple receiving £50,000 in benefits including Universal Credit, Personal Independent Payment, Housing Benefit, Income Support and Child Benefit would pay no income tax or national insurance, keeping the full £50,000. Should the non-working couple on £50,000 a year pay the same amount of income tax and national insurance as the working couple? Please leave a comment below.

St George’s flag stands for unity over hatred and decency over division. Those are the values I will always fight for. Some try to hijack our flag to spread hate, I reject their plastic patriotism. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

Today, we fly our flag proudly and we're reminded of the values it represents - service, generosity, and respect. When we stand together, united in our communities, we are stronger than any attempt to divide us. Happy St George’s Day!
