@linnylou48@MartinKnight_ I did a paper round from age 12 to 14. Then worked on a milk round till I was 18. While at school/college . Then into full time work.
@MartinKnight_ My son did and also got up extra early to mark up the round. Daughter went to a local chemist then to a cafe and then to Tesco. None were easy. I used to do an evening round until I went to work at 15
There was a time, not so long ago, when an army of boys & girls from 12 years upwards set their alarm clocks for 5.30 a.m. & got dressed, mounted their bikes in all weathers & headed to their local newsagents to carry out their paper round.
It was an important introduction to the world of work & to earning dosh for themselves & becoming independent. They are as rare as the rag & bone man now. We will never see their like again.
Originating in Mexico where the natives would put a slice of Lime in their bottle neck to stop the flies getting in us Brit's have been putting a drop of Cordial in our Lager since it's introduction to our Pubs in the 60's in the hot Summer months as I have🍻 for 30 years☀️🍻
Reminder we play York (What a city) next Tuesday, 15th. Still some tickets left. Then Rotherham (🙄) on the 19th, last tickets available. Getting ready to back Selles and the boys indefinitely🫡
Selles doesn’t have a prayer at SHU, look at the state of the replies. As soon as they lose a game they’re going to be in his back. Feel sorry for him because I did like RS but feels like the wrong time for him #hcafc
