I've been wondering why governments don't use tax policy to address inflation instead of just interest rates? @RBReich, would a progressive tax hike on high income earners not also cool off inflation without punishing lower income people? I'm curious.

I watched #DontLookUp and was equal parts relieved that it has been so widely viewed & stressed that it feels as though we are still frogs in very hot water, just cooking. Gratitude to all the climate scientists and journos, trying to wake the frogs & change the system 🌹

@bitblocksystems @SpaceXStarlink @elonmusk Yep, just like that. Apparently 4,400 needed to make the system fully operational so pretty much going to be the dominant feature in the night sky. Basically, it'll be like Freemont Street...everywhere.

I'm all for better rural internet. Hopefully this becomes stable / reliable. And hopefully they figure out eliminating reflection 😔

Update: apparently this is thanks to low earth orbit satellites by @SpaceXStarlink. Thanks for the noise pollution and occasionally available internet service. Hope @elonmusk doesn't mind when my elevated tube transit swings through Austin on a fair tax collection run.

Anybody know what the sonic boom and chain of lights heading east in the sky was at 11:44 MST? Failed to take a picture but haven't seen something like that before. #yegwx #yeg

@cliveoshry Well, I do live in east Edmonton and we get some random bangs from the refineries. It was probably just a coincidence but in hindsight, agreed, these are not in the atmosphere so the sound is unlikely.

@SamHarrisOrg Two months ago I attended a multi-day conference and workshop and they used airmeet.com. It worked well for breakout sessions, informal networking, and seemed functional for presenting/q&a. So far the best virtual experience I've had.

At 72, my mother graduated from law school. This summer, alone in her study, she took her exams online. She was notified last month that she passed Barrister. We just got word today that she passed Solicitor!!! In January, she'll be called to the bar ♥️ TAKE THAT 2020!
