Federal officials have served subpoenas to Marxist political influencer Hasan Piker and CodePink cofounder Susan Medea Benjamin as part of a wider investigation into whether U.S. organizations and leaders violated U.S. laws and sanctions in supporting Cuba's communist regime, Fox News Digital has learned. foxnews.com/politics/feds-…

Ubisoft stock is crashing after the company announced massive financial losses worth billions.
For years, Ubisoft was one of the biggest names in gaming, but recently, the company has struggled with:
>expensive game development
>delayed releases
>cancelled projects
>weak game launches
> players stopped trusting ubisoft
Now, after reporting huge losses, investors are increasingly worried that Ubisoft lost the ability to deliver good games.

@academiadgamers Why I want soft-body physics, but only enforce damage on the offender.

Good news for Windows 11 gamers: Microsoft is quietly working on a major internal plan called “K2” to slash bloat, boost performance, and make the OS seriously competitive with SteamOS.
>SteamOS is now the official benchmark, Microsoft wants Windows 11 to deliver identical (or better) gaming performance on the exact same hardware
>Dramatically lower idle RAM usage and a much lighter overall OS footprint
>Heavy cuts to AI clutter and pre-installed junk
>Completely rebuilt Start menu, reportedly up to 60% faster
>A ton of other under-the-hood tweaks (faster File Explorer, snappier UI, fewer background processes, etc.)
The changes are probably due to make Windows look better on Project Helix and future handheld/Xbox PC hardware.
It finally feels like Microsoft is listening people, can’t believe it

Starting today, every new laptop sold in the European Union must use USB-C as its primary charging port for models up to 100 watts.
This extends the common charger rules already in force for phones and tablets
The EU wants to slash electronic waste by roughly 11 000 tons each year and also buyers won’t have to buy so many chargers for every device which is incredible annoying
High-power devices like certain gaming laptops remain exempt from full USB-C exclusivity but are still required to include a working USB-C port.

@yamanakanobody Make a service with Valve's philosophy and provide faithful translations, then I'm in!
And no censorship other than what's required by Japanese law or less if possible overseas.
Ideally no exclusivity for any platform. They have to compete with service (and piracy), not content

Starting in 2027, smartphones sold in the European Union will be required to have user-replaceable batteries designed for greater durability and more charging cycles.
Manufacturers must also provide spare parts and repair manuals for at least 10 years after a model is released.
This is real pressure against planned obsolescence. It should mean phones that actually last longer, cheaper fixes, and a lot less electronic waste piling up. About time.

@Pirat_Nation Publishers take for granted that Steam solved a service problem and the Publishers have created a new service problem.
One step forward, one step backward 🏴☠️

Pragmata launched with Denuvo, and many legitimate buyers on Linux and Steam Deck cannot play the game they paid for.
The problem is Denuvo’s strict 5-machine activation limit per 24 hours.
Every time you change Proton version, enable a launch option, or tweak settings like DLSS or ray tracing, it registers as a new PC and quickly locks you out.
“Currently your game purchase cannot be re-validated successfully, please wait 24 hours and try again.”
Users who tested different Protons on launch day are now stuck for a full day.
One review: preordered months ago, but on release day the limit hit while trying to get the game running. Pirates played the full version days before buyers.
The same Denuvo that failed to stop early cracks is now blocking paying customers who simply wanted to optimize performance.
Windows users with stable setups report fewer problems, but Linux/Proton users are heavily affected.
If you are on Linux: choose one Proton version and do not switch.

@hirahira22222 I want this too, but the first hurdle is for the company to stay privately held, forever.

Imagine a Fucking Translator thinking they are better than the author of the work they are translating...
JUST IMAGINE THE LEVEL OF ENTITLEMENT.
Don Tworry@nonetosee
@autopilotgod There's this smug superiority among many translators particularly of Japanese works where they think they're better than the original creators.

@notch Do you realize how DLSS even work?
It utilized tensor cores (RT) cores for DLSS and it doesn't look that bad at all with no latency or barely any latency.
MG yes, it is a pain in the ass, but not DLSS. Dlss is the future and the best tech of all time.

@SirDustyDirks I don't hear anyone complaining about GOG taking the industry standard 30% cut, hmm???
Keep sucking Sweeney, Dirks.

Someone gave Crimson Desert a 0/10 on Metacritic because it has no LGBTQ+ representation.
“It's disappointing in 2026. This isn't about politics It's about feeling invited to play and included in the world the game is trying to build.
For a modern, large scale RPG like this, that absence feels outdated.”
