@Walters_Ego @benlandis @elonmusk Agreed. We need more connectivity and data. One of the biggest shortcomings with today's traffic lights is most are dumb. They don't actually know what the current conditions are. And the sensors are not good enough because the signals are generally not connected to anything.

@DocJohnG @elonmusk I’m a little skeptical. I mean, we have no alternative—without a car, we may be unable to work. A major repair can become a financial crisis. Just my impressions though—when I visited Germany, I saw calmer drivers, more well-kept cars, and smoother roads.

@elonmusk Wouldn't self driving help with traffic? I would assume AI can do a better job spacing cars out by eliminating human delays in braking, accelerating and not paying attention in traffic jams ?

@elonmusk Could there not be a literal "que" where the car reserves a drive time and can know how many other people have trips planned at a specific time?

@elonmusk Fixing traffic: 1. Figure out where traffic is and where it is going. 2. Connect traffic signals to that reality. 3. Prioritize the most predictable drivers (give them carrots). Give people more green lights to change their behaviors, create a virtuous cycle.
