Found out today that I am a direct descendant of William Brewster of the Mayflower. He is my 12th great grandfather. He was the most senior leader of the Separatist on the Mayflower and helped draft the Mayflower compact. His life story embodies the Separatist quest for religious freedom, marked by persecution, exile, and pioneering settlement in the New World. Happy early Thanksgiving. God Bless America!

@david__shepard @RogueLou18 Nice post. I especially like the part where you point out people are fleeing to Idaho from Blue states and then you make Idaho seem bad. COW ppl can simply go back. It's 100% true that Democrats will learn absolutely nothing and destroy the states they move to.

Republicans who've relocated to Idaho from 'COW' states (California, Oregon, Washington) are shaking up an establishment GOP that's long operated like a good ol' boys club. The establishment will vilify these 'COW' Republicans for one simple reason: they're actually more conservative — and that's a direct threat to entrenched power. If Idaho wants to be the 'Florida of the West' and lead the nation in conservative policy, it'll be the resettled newcomers driving that charge — not an establishment content to keep the status quo and cede ground to the left.

@JackIdaho57 That is fascinating to hear. I live in Moscow, and I do not know anyone that has relocated to Idaho that is looking for a government handout. In fact, all the COW’s I know are privately educating their children and most of them are on a Christian health sharing program.

@david__shepard Don’t get me wrong. The current Idaho crop of republicans are completely seduced by money. Nothing else. However too many of our import conservatives are all about welfare and the”safety net”.

When you say strange idea of conservatism, what do you mean exactly? It would seem that the current establishment refuses to engage with lowering property taxes and okay with illegal immigration. I too like the idea of a very small government and I think everyone would be better off with a small government.

@david__shepard Don’t know if I agree with that. Most of those transplants have some pretty strange ideas of conservatism. I want the Idaho of my youth. The government so small it was almost non existent. Communities and people took care of the needy. Not the government.
