@bradluttrell Excellent post, Brad. 🫡Scouting memories are some of my favorites. I made Eagle Scout just in time for 18th birthday. Time w kids / as parents gets better + better even though it ebbs + flows. I just got home from 2 weeks traveling international w my 80+ parents!

I'm having a parental short circuit moment. Or something.
This weekend notched my last Cub Scout campout with my son. He's moving over to Boy Scouts, and I officially wrap 5 years of being a den leader.
As I prepare for our last Cub Scout Achievement, it hit me that this was it.
I hope to keep camping with my boy, but we've had this twice a year that was on the calendar, had to happen.
I've taught him / watched him learn so much:
• How to setup camp
• Whittling
• Cooking
• Fishing for bass, not just bluegill
• Leave no trace mentality
• Learn to shoot a boom stick and archery (and he went on to join the team / go to state, nationals and next is worlds)
• First aid
And more.
It's a strange feeling when you real-time realize how much you're going to miss something as you're doing it. I actually think realizing you're in the best days of your life is a real gift. Appreciating the kids, not just stressed by them (the spring sports season has stressed me plenty, though).
I didn't get emotional when leading the boys' final lesson, but I think they could feel that I meant it when I said I was proud of them for sticking with it, and for their growth.
I know parenting isn't for everyone, but it's one of the greatest joys I've had. I am simultaneously loving who my kids are becoming, but also wishing I could stop time.
I can't, so I just have to try and soak in the good times.
I had a friend text me recently to tease me about missing out on a turkey hunt with some guys (love ya Mike, Derek and Chuck).
But I had to tell them I'm not missing out at all.
I'm right where I need to be.
(Picture of just me from fishing with my dude because I don't post pics of my kids on social)

The music in this show — and before and after intermission — is SO good.

@bradluttrell I’ve listened to it on repeat since yesterday. Really good album. Plays like an old school album with thought behind song order and mood and flow. Thanks again for another great rec!

@dieworkwear @redcakecat Best way to hand tailored trousers is clipped from the waist or upside down from the cuffs so they hang strait. That keeps the creases razor sharp and creates no mid-leg perma-fold. Saves space in closet too.

@dieworkwear @redcakecat These style hangars work well for short term pants hanging. The challenge is even a quality hanger with a felted bar will press a rounded perpendicular crease midway through your tailored trouser legs when they hang for a while.

@fasc1nate One take. That’s all it took. ☝️✨ No autotune, no retakes, just a man, his ukulele, and a voice like a warm Pacific breeze. Pure soul.

At 3 a.m. one night in 1988, Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwo'ole called a local studio and said he needed to record something immediately.
He pleaded with the engineer: "Please, can I come in? I have an idea."

@ElChandler Reading @chadzunker thriller. I live in #austintexas where much of story unfolds. Fast paced. Credible conflict. I highly recommend for #readingcommunity who enjoys #thrillerbooks

The Dallas skyline in 1943. Falstaff beer? It looks almost ---- ALMOST ---- quaint. How many of y'all saw Pegasus on top of the 29-story Magnolia hotel from miles away at night while returning from a long road trip and said "We're almost home!!"?
