My Favorite AI prompt to help you improve your SEO rankings.
First off, this prompt works on Bard, it doesn’t work on ChatGPT.
Whenever you are trying to rank on Google you’ll notice that in many cases a website may rank higher than yours even if you believe your content is better.
What you need to keep in mind is Google doesn’t actually understand content quality. They fake it.
As Google admitted to the DOJ, “We do not understand documents, we fake it.”
So I like asking Bard to help determine what I can improve in my content to rank better.
First, ask Bard this question:
Can you tell me the main differences between the content on this page [insert URL of a competitor page that ranks above you] and this page [insert URL of another competitor page that ranks above you] ?
This prompt will tell you the differences in the content for those 2 different web pages.
Make sure the URLs you select rank for the same keyword on Google. Don’t use those sites' homepage URLs, you have to use the exact URL that is ranking on Google for that particular keyword.
Bard will then tell you the difference in the content and give you ideas.
Then I want you to use the following prompt on Bard to get even more insights:
Can you tell me the main differences between the content on this page [insert URL of a competitor page that ranks above you] and this page [insert URL of another competitor page that ranks above you] ? And then after analyzing both of those pages, can you tell me how to make the content on my page better on my web page? Here is the URL for my web page [insert URL of the page on your site that is targeting the same keyword]
This will give you more insights on what you need to change to rank higher.
The reason I break it down into 2 prompts versus 1 is because if you just used the 2nd prompt, Bard won’t give you enough feedback on the content quality for the URLs ranking above you on Google.

@philmellows Hey Phil. Really enjoyed your article about Bass in @pelliclemag. Also, have fond memories of drinking it in The Star Inn, Bath. Any idea if it is available in or near Brighton? I’m thirsty now! 🍺

@davidhardingUK @pelliclemag Afraid not. Closest I’ve drunk it to Brighton lately is @expresstavern Kew Bridge, which isn’t close to Brighton at all. Check @thewickingman for a full list of stockists.

The best marketing lesson I learned from a Facebook employee.
Don’t focus on the long term... at least with social media.
What my friend meant is social media keeps changing, largely due to the competition.
It used to be where people liked posting images.
Then it was messages that disappeared.
Then it became long-form video.
Then live content.
And now short-form video content.
In other words, social networks adapt based on what the “it” thing is.
Each platform pushes heavily on features that made their competition popular so that way they don’t lose “active” users.
So, whatever is working for you right now with social media, keep doing it.
But pay attention to the features that they are releasing. Chances are your reach will increase if you leverage them.
It doesn't matter if those features are good or bad, but if their competition has it, they will push it to keep users on their platform.

A powerful lesson on luck that everyone needs to hear:
In 2003, Dr. Richard Wiseman published The Luck Factor, which explored why some people consistently get lucky while others struggle with bad luck their whole lives.
He gathered participants for several simple experiments:
Dr. Wiseman took out ads requesting participants for a study on luck—specifically, the ads asked for people who considered themselves very lucky or very unlucky.
In one experiment, each participant was given a newspaper and asked to count the number of photographs inside it.
The unlucky group averaged 2 minutes to complete the exercise, while the lucky group averaged mere seconds.
What happened?
Well, on page 2 of the newspaper, there was an enormous bold font print that read, "Stop counting, there are 43 photographs in this newspaper."
At the halfway mark, there was another message that read, "Stop counting, tell the experimenter you have seen this and win $250."
The self-identified lucky people had seen the writing, stopped, and responded accordingly to end the timer (or collect the money).
The self-identified unlucky people, on the other hand, had missed it (or mistrusted it) and taken far longer to count.
This finding grew into a consistent theme across the body of research:
The lucky people came across "chance" opportunities, while the unlucky people seemed to miss them. Both groups had equal access to these opportunities, but the lucky group saw what the unlucky group tended to miss.
There's a concept I often refer to as "luck surface area" in my writing.
The idea is that each of us has a surface area on which lucky events can strike.
There are a few baseline factors out of our control:
• Where you are born
• Who you are born to
• "Acts of God"
Beyond these, the size of our luck surface area is within our control.
In Dr. Wiseman's study, the lucky people seemed to understand this:
• They noted that they often took alternate routes to and from work so that they would meet new people and see new things.
• They talked about unique strategies for talking to different groups of people at parties.
• They bounced back from seemingly negative encounters and maintained a positive outlook for the future.
The luckiest people have engineered an enormous luck surface area.
Expand yours in two ways:
1. Remove Anti-Luck: Anti-luck includes all the actions, behaviors, and people that shrink your luck surface area. Pessimism and "blinders" are two common sources of anti-luck. People who tell you to be realistic are another common source.
2. Add Pro-Luck: Pro-luck includes all the actions, behaviors, and people that expand your luck surface area. Getting out and meeting new people, sharing your thoughts and ideas publicly, and sending more cold emails and DMs are all common sources of pro-luck. People who encourage you to think bigger are another common source.
