There is absolutely nothing wrong with changing the core. In fact, it is a good thing. However, it is one thing to break up the core, but another thing to rebuild the core. Since the breakup Stearns has done nothing major to replace the core. Mets are at least two top hitters and two top pitchers away from contention.

RUMORS: The Diamondbacks are unlikely to move INF Ketel Marte unless they receive young starting pitching. With the Mets reportedly pursuing Marte, that would make them a great fit. Would you be okay with sending Tong and/or Sproat away?
