The idea that there is a secret esoteric truth to the bible could easily be used by The Antichrist to lead Christians astray and to join a new world religion. It would sound something like this: ”The hidden truths were always in there, you just didn’t notice. Now all the deeper biblical mysteries will be revealed which will allow for enlightenment and true spiritual fulfillment for all humanity.” That way it wouldn’t seem like Christians are leaving Christianity behind, it will seem as if they are joining the higher true version of Christianity. Jesus on the other hand tells us that he has already made the complete truth known and not withheld anything from us: John 18:20 “Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.” 2 Corinthians 11:3 “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” Trust in Jesus and do not be deceived! His gospel of John 3:16 is the plain and simple truth, that even a child can understand. He didn’t make it a complex mystery for us to figure out. Jesus is fair and he loves us.
