Following the attack against the synagogue in Liège, Belgium, the U.S. Ambassador to Belgium, @BillWhiteUSA , visited the community to show solidarity and to see the synagogue that was damaged. Our colleague @ralphpais had the honor of accompanying Ambassador White, who without hesitation left all his engagements to drive to Liège this morning. They were received by the mayor of Liège, @WillyDemeyer who was very clear in his condemnation of the attack against the synagogue last night. We thank Ambassador White for his support and for standing with the Jewish community at this difficult time.

Tack Göteborg för det varma mottagandet och för att jag fick möjligheten att delta som inbjuden talare. Det hör verkligen till ovanligheten att få sjunga den svenska nationalsången 🇸🇪 tillsammans med 4000 svensk-iranier under en demonstration för frihet och demokrati i ett annat land. Den svensk-iranska diasporan visar återigen sitt engagemang för våra gemensamma och grundläggande värderingar – demokrati, frihet och ett sekulärt samhälle. Det är dags att fler ansluter sig till det iranska folkets längtan efter frihet. Kronprinsen Reza Pahlavi är den enda som kan leda en övergångsregering till ett fritt Iran från den islamistiska diktaturen 💚🤍❤️

Dear friends across Europe, This morning, Israel and the United States carried out a preemptive strike against the Iranian regime. We are following developments in the region with deep concern. We are also aware of warnings regarding potential retaliatory attacks by the regime against Jewish and Israeli targets. In light of these threats, the EJA urges European governments to immediately strengthen security measures around Jewish communities and institutions. It is well known that Iran and its proxies have in the past viewed European Jews as vulnerable targets and as enemies. Heightened vigilance and protection are therefore essential at this time.
