Dos and Don'ts for someone fitting/having seizures Do: ✅️Ease the person to the floor. ✅️Turn the person gently onto one side(usually left side). This will help the person breathe. ✅️Clear the area around the person of anything hard or sharp. This can prevent injury. ✅️Put something soft and flat, like a folded jacket, under his or her head. ✅️Remove eyeglasses. ✅️ Loosen ties or anything around the neck that may make it hard to breathe. ✅️Time the seizure. Urgently seek medical attention if the seizure lasts longer than 5 minutes. Do not: ❌️hold the person down or try to stop his or her movements. ❌️put anything in the person’s mouth. This can injure teeth or the jaw. A person having a seizure cannot swallow his or her tongue, its a myth. ❌️try to give mouth-to-mouth breaths (like CPR). People usually start breathing again on their own after a seizure. ❌️offer the person water or food until he or she is fully alert. End of today's lessons, good night ladies and gentlemen!

South Africa is the president of the G20 for the 2025 term. The African Union also participates as a member organisation, representing all 55 African states collectively. The G20, or Group of Twenty, is an international forum of the world’s major economies that addresses global economic cooperation and development. South Africa is the only African country in this grouping, which makes its role and presidency not only significant but also symbolic for the entire continent. What makes this particularly commendable is that South Africa has not been selfish in its approach. It could have chosen to focus only on national interests, branding it as “G20 South Africa,” but instead it opened the process to the rest of the continent. Thousands of Africans from different walks of life and professional backgrounds have been involved in G20-related discussions and activities over the past months on the invitation of South Africa or South African entities. I can personally testify to this inclusive approach. I was invited by a South African media entity to take part in the M20, which is the Media 20 stream of the G20. There was a major conference, attended by media professionals from across Africa, where key resolutions were adopted. It clearly demonstrated South Africa’s commitment to ensuring that Africa speaks with one voice and benefits collectively from its G20 leadership. That is why Donald Trump’s recent attack on South Africa, based on lies about a supposed genocide against Afrikaners, is not only dishonest but also extremely malicious. His actions are designed not merely to undermine South Africa, but to attack the entire African continent. South Africa brought the rest of Africa along into this G20 process, it made it about us all so that we could rise and benefit together. Any African who supports Trump or his attacks against South Africa is acting out of ignorance and foolishness. They are self hating. They are effectively supporting an assault on Africa itself. If South Africa fails, the continent will sink with it. Millions of Africans live and work in South Africa, contributing to and benefiting from its economy. Those Africans, and the families they support across the continent, will suffer if Trump’s campaign to sabotage South Africa’s G20 presidency succeeds. The idea is to dissuade investors to come. It is vital that Africans understand this; the attack on South Africa is not just on South Africa, it is an attack on the whole of Africa. And the pliant African states and racist organisations in South Africa that are colluding with the United States to derail South Africa’s G20 leadership should hang their heads in shame. The propaganda against South Africa has now gone completely wild, from crazy to downright idiotic. It began with the false claim that Afrikaners were being exclusively targeted and killed in South Africa, that there was a so-called genocide aimed at wiping out white farmers. Yet, the truth is out there for anyone who cares to know it; crime in South Africa affects everyone, and because of demographics, it affects far more black people than white people. Now the propaganda against South Africa has escalated further. Various MAGA-aligned outlets are spreading new lies, claiming that Christians are being killed in South Africa — as seen in the tweet attached below — deliberately fabricating stories to smear not just South Africa, but the entire African continent. What we are witnessing is a coordinated attack on South Africa by Donald Trump and his MAGA extremists. It would be a tragedy if any African were foolish enough to support this campaign of deceit. While they invent a genocide that does not exist in South Africa, they were the same people who denied the real genocide and mass killings that took place in Gaza. This is hypocrisy at its worst, a real cynical attempt to vilify Africa while shielding genuine perpetrators of atrocities elsewhere. All well meaning Africans support South Africa’s presidency. May it succeed and may all the haters be shamed.

@S_Harudzibwi SA has a larger # of European descendants than any other African country. This makes the world view it differently. Its got nothing to do with black SAans being better than other blacks. It's a racist world, sad to see African brothers fighting over this. Decolonize the mind.

The @_AfricanUnion has been reduced to a farce. How do they think anyone in the democratic world will take them seriously? Herein lies the root of Africa’s problems. The #AU needs a major overhaul so that it becomes fit for purpose.
African Union@_AfricanUnion

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, takes note of the results of the presidential election in #Tanzania and congratulates H.E. President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her victory. The Chairperson deeply regrets the loss of human life during the post-electoral protests and extends his sincere condolences to the families of the victims. He underscores the imperative of upholding fundamental rights and freedoms, including the right to peaceful assembly and expression, and encourages the authorities to safeguard these rights within the framework of the law. He also calls on citizens to exercise their rights in a peaceful and responsible manner. The Chairperson recalls the principles of the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance, in particular respect for the rule of law, human rights, fundamental freedoms, and political pluralism, which are the cornerstones of democratic and stable societies. The African Union reaffirms its readiness to support the people and Government of Tanzania in their efforts to preserve peace, national cohesion, and democracy. Read @ au.int/en/pressreleas…

China’s Investors and Zimbabwe’s Dilemma: When Weak Systems Invite Misconduct Over the past few months, Zimbabwe has witnessed a worrying surge in disputes and controversies involving some Chinese investors. These incidents have reignited an important debate: why does Zimbabwe, unlike the United Kingdom, the United States, or the United Arab Emirates, experience recurring tensions with investors from a country that is otherwise known for its disciplined, law-abiding global business presence? The uncomfortable truth is that the problem does not begin in Beijing - it begins in Harare. China invests heavily across continents, yet stories of open hostility and misconduct are rarely heard elsewhere. The difference lies not in the nationality of the investor, but in the strength of the systems that host them. When institutions are weak, rules are negotiable. When corruption becomes a lubricant for business, discipline evaporates. Add to that a difficult business environment and cultural misunderstandings between employers and employees, and you have the perfect storm for conflict. Zimbabwe’s first task is introspection. We must stop outsourcing blame and instead fortify our law enforcement architecture. The country needs strong, predictable, and incorruptible systems that inspire respect - not exploitation. A starting point would be the establishment of a Foreign Investment Compliance Unit under the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA), tasked with monitoring investor conduct and swiftly mediating disputes. In parallel, we need robust anti-corruption mechanisms that protect whistleblowers and make bribery a high-risk venture. Communities, too, must be empowered. Public education campaigns on labour rights, grievance channels, and cultural awareness could prevent minor disputes from becoming national scandals. In high-investment zones, government should introduce Social Integration Impact Assessments, just as we have Environmental Impact Assessments, to ensure local concerns are addressed before tensions arise. And because corruption thrives in the shadows, digital transparency can be our strongest disinfectant. A public Investor Conduct Dashboard, powered by verifiable data, would let Zimbabweans see how foreign firms are performing socially and ethically. China, for its part, must also act. As a major global power, its overseas investments must reflect not only its economic strength but also its moral responsibility. The Chinese Embassy, in partnership with Zimbabwean ministries, could sponsor Localisation and Cultural Competence Seminars for incoming investors and workers to help them understand local labour laws, customs, and sensitivities. Chinese companies operating in Africa should be guided by a formal China – Africa Investment Code of Conduct, aligned with African Union standards on governance and human rights. This would ensure uniform accountability across the continent. Finally, a Joint Zimbabwe – China Investment Ombudsman - a neutral, bi-national body - could be established to handle grievances transparently and prevent issues from escalating into diplomatic disputes.

🔸Dear @PoliceZimbabwe, While we are grateful for the engagement and statement shared by His Excellency, @China_Amb_Zim, we do require an independent account from the Police service whose constitutional mandate is to serve and protect human lives? 1. What exactly happened? 2. Why were the Police not called around midnight when the alleged robbery happened? 3. Why was a man left for dead for a good seven hours after being fatally shot? 4. Why were the Police only alerted about the incident when local residents raised alarm around 7am? 5. Has anyone been arrested on a charge of murder or culpable homicide? Or will this precious human life just be forgotten with no investigation or accountability? We need new leaders.🇿🇼

A statement by the Chinese company involved. FYI. @advocatemahere The final conclusion must come from the Police. Statement on the Incident of the Attack on China Zhuhe Mining's Gold Mine in Mutoko, Zimbabwe on 9th October 2025 At 00:33 on the early morning of October 9, 2025, a group of gangsters climbed over the courtyard wall of the gold mine owned by China Zhuhe Mining in Mutoko, Zimbabwe, in an attempt to commit robbery. An on-duty Chinese engineer, armed with a legally registered security firearm for mining operations (with valid certificates), fired several warning shots into the air to stop the criminal act. The gangsters immediately fled in all directions. At approximately 7:00 a.m. the same day, local workers on the early shift discovered a critically injured gangster about 1 kilometer from the crime scene. They promptly reported the matter to Mr. Zilu, the local translator who also served as the direct supervisor. Mr. Zilu rushed to the scene immediately; upon questioning the gangster, the latter admitted to being injured during the robbery and abandoned at the scene by his accomplices. Mr. Zilu immediately arranged to report the case to the police, but unfortunately, the gangster had already passed away when the police arrived. While the police were en route to the scene, some local villagers, unaware of the truth, saw the gangster’s body and mistakenly suspected Chinese employees of improper conduct. They then besieged several innocent Chinese employees. Fortunately, the police arrived in time and quickly brought the situation under control. Currently, the local police have launched a full-scale investigation. One accomplice of the deceased gangster is cooperating with the investigation and has confessed to his involvement in the robbery. The hunt for other suspects linked to the case is still ongoing. The Chinese engineer involved in the incident is actively cooperating with the police investigation and awaiting the police’s final handling decision. China Zhuhe Mining Co., Ltd. October 10, 2025
