Hypothetical: You’re the owner of an MLB team. I offer to take $0 salary and sign a minor league contract and go to Low A. If the “he sucks now” crowd is right and I get lit up, you cut me, lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If the “clubhouse cancer” crowd is right, you see it immediately at Low A and cut me. You lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If there’s massive negative PR, which we already know there won’t be, you just cut me and move on. The story is dead in a couple days, you lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. But, assuming none of those things happen, which they obviously wouldn’t, if you like what you see, you can promote me to AA and re evaluate me there. Then AAA. Then the big leagues. If I earn it, which you’d be 100% in control of deciding. If you don’t think I’m good enough, you lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. You could take away my “antics”. You could take away my social media. You could ask anything of me. If I don’t comply, you cut me, lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. What logical reason is there to not do this? At worst, you cut me and there’s no risk to the big league club. At best, you get a Cy Young winner for $0 who you know can still pitch and could help the big league team if and when you see fit.

@NHL Smile if you just got titty-fucked for 60 minutes but got extremely lucky because your opponent decided to miss every empty net possible and you managed to hang on by a THREAD because your goalie was elite and the rest of your team was fighting for their lives out there.

@ODUFootballFan @ByPatForde No facts to back this up, but I wouldn’t be shocked if part of the “terms” for NHL returning was 3x3… extra 5x5 means extra tired players, which are more prone to injury. Sure players would rather have 5x5, but NHL leaders I am sure made it a term

@TroutTyler @johncanzanobft Thank*. She inherited his passion. Would just be nice of her to show some appreciation. Not sure why it’s so controversial to appreciate people. Weird take.

@TroutTyler @johncanzanobft Most kids than their parents when they inherit something that was their parents love/passion. It’s very common. Because no one would be on that podium without them, in this case Paul. Without Paul, most of those people wouldn’t be up there that day, directly or indirectly.

@TroutTyler @johncanzanobft The point is without her dead brother, she is nobody. She is working corporate America 9-5. SHE would not be there without him. Nothing to do with the actual team or organization out there now.

@johncanzanobft The team he built doesn’t exist anymore and she already pointed out the actual architect of the team: JS. Thanking an owner from 7 years ago right after a Super Bowl is silly and I think you trying to say how much she should bring up her dead brother is weird.

Wild: Aaron Rodgers throws one last jab at the Jets in what could be his final press conference last night. "There’s only a few very special places in the league that have the tradition, the town, the organization, and I'm thankful to have played for two of them." 😭😭😭

@Domecity305 @parkerwest @AlecOnFOX7 @GWillburn420 To your point, it wasn’t even 1 minute interview… that entire video was 1 minute. I think the interviews are dumb, but if the network who paid for that access wants 45 seconds, they can get 45 seconds.

I actually enjoy post game interviews. It’s apart of sports culture. Secondly if players want to be left alone then gladly give some of them millions back. These major network deals help pay their salaries. So if the network wants a couple minutes of your time after the game, then suck it up.

I’m sorry I thought Justin Herbert was extremely rude to ESPN’s Laura Rutledge. You know the drill dude, you’re the QB. Big win for the Chargers, gut wrenching loss for the Eagles.

@ChrisBHaynes @BrandonSprague For those of us who don’t understand/know, why would blazers pay anymore than Vet minimum, knowing bucks are still paying him? Wont he bring home the same regardless?

Just in: The Milwaukee Bucks are waiving Damian Lillard and stretching the remaining $113 million on his contract in order to acquire Myles Turner, sources tell ESPN. Lillard's two seasons in Milwaukee come to an end as he rehabilitates a torn Achilles tendon.

@slmandel Baseball is the perfect example of why SEC wants so many bids. Amount of SEC hosts vs 2 that made it to Omaha... but one ended up winning.

“Between our scouts identifying him early on and then some of our big key decision makers seeing him very early on, I felt like we had a big advantage in our scouting process and building our book on him as a player.” Blazers GM Joe Cronin on first-round pick, center Yang Hansen.
Aaron J. Fentress@AaronJFentress

“We selected a player we’ve been watching for quite a while and we're really excited … This is a very, very unique talent, in our opinion.” – Blazers GM Joe Cronin. Cronin said the Blazers scouted center Yang Hansen for two years and might have selected him in the 2024 NBA draft had he declared. #RipCity

@Stitch_Head @pac12 Problem is they may have not all made the playoffs. SEC seems to get “strength of schedule” bonus for their conference and beating each other, pac 12 rarely got such treatment (in any sport) which contributed to the downfall.

@BrandonSprague The results of the last two games is 100000% why USC blew up the PAC-12. Didn’t like the parity revenue sharing brought, so literally took their ball and went home. Glad with the big pay day they still can’t beat the Beavs.

@BrandonSprague Tomcat rat snap traps work well though you need to be sure to secure the trap (they have little holes on the side so you can drive a nail/screw). Rats are tough enough where, if the trap doesn't kill them instantly, they'll drag it around trying to escape.
