Blazers expected to emerge as a prime trade suitor for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Portland would be considered a potential suitor for Anthony Davis if pursuit of Giannis falls short. (per @JakeLFischer)

Unpopular opinion: UConn moving in football only to the Pac-12 is a win-win for both parties. Unless you’re one of the original expansion targets by the conference, any other school should not be considered. Stick to the flex model at that point.

The "3-2-1 lottery" proposal, named to represent the number of lottery balls per team, would expand the lottery from 14 to 16 teams. Teams that do not qualify for the playoffs or play-in tournament but stay out of the relegation zone (spots four through 10) would receive three lottery balls each. Teams with a bottom-three record -- the relegation zone -- would have just two lottery balls but have a floor of the 12th pick while the rest of the 13 lottery teams could fall as far as the 16th pick. The 9th and 10th play-in seeds in each conference receive two lottery balls each while the losers of the 7-8 play-in games receive one lottery ball each. In addition, no team would be able to win the top pick in consecutive years or be able to win three consecutive top-five picks. Teams also would not be able to protect picks in the 12 to 15 slots going forward.

So let's say this new plan actually eliminated tanking. Everyone tried to win all season. Someone still has to finish in the bottom 3! A naturally bad team! And we want to give them less odds to improve than better teams - and even potentially let them slip to 12th yr after yr?

Shaedon Sharpe has always been a rhythm player, but Portland has been disrupting that rhythm by giving him inconsistent run But, in my opinion, his shotmaking is even more crucial in the playoffs, where having perimeter creators is even more important

My main fear. Getting rid of this 22 yo that has been a smooth 20ppg type of scorer since his rookie year. Portland acts like they don’t know hes special. Shae ceiling is higher than Deni.
