@el_travs With 2 outs you shouldn’t have to worry about tagging a runner . Just make the play at 1st . To many things can go wrong trying to tag a guy rather making a routine throw

@MarreroMatt I don’t have that answer. It’s a tough situation because I think the bat will work itself out. I really do. But the position part is the question.

Tough way to drop final game of a road trip for Birds. For the final play with 2 outs and ball hit at Coby. Coby made the right choice. You aren't taught to tag in that scenario because you don't want to risk missing the tag. That is the routine to do with 2 out, but unfortunately he didn't execute the throw. If he makes an accurate throw, there is no conversation about that play. Added note: Tough in-between scoop for Pete too. Ball I am sure he thinks he can get, but the in-between hops are the hardest ones to pick.
