@leecarty8 @yourboykweezy @LukeEdwardsTele general trend continues upwards. Consider this season a blip and see if the overall picture improves before making such a big decision about changing the head coach.
Anyway, I’ve shared my view. Enjoyed debating with you both even though we don’t fully agree. All the best. (…3)
English

@leecarty8 @yourboykweezy @LukeEdwardsTele exacerbated that damage.
Getting a decent striker or two will make a huge difference.
It can’t be all on the manager, though.
I believe as fans we need to consider things over a broader period - a bigger picture. We can have ups and downs over longer periods as long as (…2)
English

@yourboykweezy @leecarty8 @LukeEdwardsTele Yep I’m reading it all just fine thanks - one of the comments above says “losing your striker shouldn’t offset you so much.”
And you followed up with, “It’s just a cop out,” and “it’s been overplayed drastically.”
I disagree with this.
Now you’re saying he IS a massive miss!
English

@dazbradley @leecarty8 @LukeEdwardsTele Are you reading what's actually being said Daz? He's a massive miss, the issue is that they didn't find and still haven't found a way to play without him, in much the same way that if Bruno is missing we don't win. It's not good enough
English

@yourboykweezy @leecarty8 @LukeEdwardsTele So it’s no longer that he was missing games. It’s now:
“Unfit.”
“Missing in games.”
“Games passed him by.”
He scored 27 goals!
That’s the crux of the argument. We haven’t been able to replace those numbers.
Anyone that thinks Isak hasn’t been a huge miss is kidding themselves.
English

@leecarty8 @dazbradley @LukeEdwardsTele Yeh on his day he was unstoppable. Many a game passed him by though be it through his lack of fitness or our inability to get him involved. We've never struck on a consistent backup plan
English

@yourboykweezy @leecarty8 @LukeEdwardsTele Isak started 41 games last season. When he was injured in the seasons before we inevitably had another goalscorer (CW) replacing him.
This season we have neither and the replacements are nowhere near the same level. Goals win matches. That’s why prolific strikers cost so much.
English

@leecarty8 @LukeEdwardsTele It's just a cop out isn't it. Of course it has an effect, but it's been overplayed drastically to avoid addressing the elephant in the room. Even if it were true, given his fitness record Even when here, they've had more than enough time to learn how to play without him
English

@footballmemorys If that's 1933-'34 then United actually finished 8th in the 2nd Division and City won the FA Cup setting an English club home attendance record that still stands today
English

@Mickyg2026 @LukeEdwardsTele Give over, we’d have been totally picked apart, and the same moaners would have been complaining that we didn’t have a go.
English

@LukeEdwardsTele It was the perfect game to sit back keep it compact and hit on counter but our manager preferred to think we are real madrid or something.
English

The Champions League was a magic carpet ride for Newcastle United and the magic ran out last night. In reality, it was always going to do so at some point. It was a lot of fun but it’s over.
Newcastle now have to make sure they secure some sort of European football again next season. They’ve picked up in the league. Huge game on Sunday. No time to feel sorry for themselves and I’m sure they won’t. We go again! Barcelona was my favourite trip of the lot #nufc
English

@NUFCgallowgate The irony is that you think NE stands for Newcastle and it’s actually NORTH EAST
English

@BBCMOTD The daylight offsides are just stupid because instead of how it is now there will be lines over half a toe overlapping or the likes.
Less VAR, not more.
English

@Ted246_ The chances of getting a PL team increase the further in the competition you get, so the stats aren’t as alarming as perhaps they appear at first glance, although I agree we do seem to get drawn against Man City/Chelsea in particular more than other teams!
English

21/30 all PL tie under Howe.
10/30 against Skys top 6
4th against Man City
David@Ted246_
@rjNUFC Did some research. Not much to do. But in Howe's full seasons here, we've had 29 cup draws. (2 leg draws counting as 1 for this) 20 of them have been all PL ties (at the time of the draw) 9 of those 20 have been against the Sky 6.
English

@CarnorJax87 @ChrisLukeJones Nah, save those games for the World Cup. It’s just about the last remaining exciting thing about it.
English

@ChrisLukeJones I preferred the 3 team group format. It still allowed for a block of friendlies so we could play against a non UEFA team.
Little sick of constantly playing UEFA teams. I want ENG v Brazil or Argentina now and again etc.
English

Sorry but the Nations League is comfortably the best thing UEFA have done to international football in a long long time. These used to be friendlies and it’s not even for us.
San Marino got PROMOTED. That’s insane and all because of this
Henricus Sordidus@SordidaHenricus
@henrywinter It's nations league. Who cares? Pointless competition that just emphasises UEFA and FIFA's obsession with more meaningless matches for more sponsor and TV money. It should be dropped.
English

@johncrossmirror As soon as everyone - and I mean IFAB, FIFA, club owners, coaches, players, fans and media - accept that the pursuit of perfection in ref decisions is futile, the sooner we can bin VAR, accept there will be human errors and go back to enjoying the game we used to know and love.
English

UEFA’s top referee chief says football “has forgotten why VAR was introduced” and says “microscopic” checks are in danger of ruining football mirror.co.uk/sport/football…
English

@davepaz101 @PopQuizDaily @WASNAPPER @FA_PGMOL Of course there has to be a definitive on/off point, but the benefit of the “daylight” argument is that forwards timing their run to be “level” (as it always was) will not be called offside when they are, to all intents and purposes, level with the defender.
English

@PopQuizDaily @WASNAPPER @FA_PGMOL Don’t know how they specifically measure but any overlap whatsoever- attacker onside. I.e benefit of the doubt to the attacking player
English

Two genuine questions for @FA_PGMOL
1. Can you guarantee this was the players exact position when the ball left the passers foot and how?
2. Who chooses the angle of the graphic that shows it was offside? Another angle aligned to the line drawn would show it to be onside.

English

@footballontnt Please speak to whoever’s decision it is to focus repeatedly on off-field stuff while the ball is in play. We pay a huge amount to watch football, not people walking down stairs with hot dogs, injured Spurs players or empty seats. #nufc
English

@OfficielKaybaye @michael_howlett @andysixsmithtv Europa League allows him to rotate. Knocked out at the first attempt in the League Cup.
It makes a difference.
English

@dazbradley @michael_howlett @andysixsmithtv Unai Emery seems to have managed 4 games less than us just find, despite significant restrictions. 14 point gap and all.
English

This is the level of leadership, loyalty and honesty Eddie Howe has displayed since day one of his time here at Newcastle United.
He was the right man to be manager of Newcastle United then - and saving the club from relegation, two Champions League qualifications and a first major trophy in 70 years later, he’s the right man to be manager of Newcastle United now.
Sky Sports Premier League@SkySportsPL
Eddie Howe says the last couple of weeks have been a 'harsh reality' for him and his players 😳
English

@NorthumbrianM @HullyStephen @NUSCuk It’s getting worse. Incredible demand for instant gratification in modern society doesn’t help. No patience any more.
Every now and again teams have a disappointing season. It happens.
EH is the best coach we’ve had since SBR. Many won’t realise what we’ve got until it’s gone.
English

@HullyStephen @NUSCuk Elements of our ‘fan’ base turn quicker than milk. It’s not even constructive, its full blown tantrums.
English

Tough times at the minute no doubt about that.
The manager and players need our support more than ever. We win together, we lose together.
We’ll support you ever more. United. #NUFC
