If you can articulate the workflow, you can build it. Spin up a Reddit Agent that pings your brand team when a competitor gets cited in a thread you care about. Create a Demand Gen Agent that builds landing pages based on real user queries to AI platforms. More importantly, there is no black box. We're hosting a $40,000 Marketing Engineering Hackathon on June 6th, at @tryprofound HQ in NYC. You can build with any tool. Anyone can apply. We're gathering 50 of the world's top marketing engineers to push the limits of one of the most consequential new roles in tech. The challenge: Take a marketing process that would be impossible to perform manually, and build a system or agent that runs it. Three weeks ago, we hit publish on a manifesto for a role we believed should exist: the 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿. I wasn't sure what would happen. Here's what did. Some of the largest companies in the world have already started hiring for it, with marketing engineers already getting hired weekly. Over 20,000 marketers came through @tryprofound University to learn what the role actually is. The discourse, both the supportive takes and the pointed critiques, has been some of the most thoughtful I've seen in our industry in years. The pieces that really got me were the ones we didn't write: 1/ Justin Hayward's "The Job Title That Finally Describes My Entire Career" 2/ Google's Marvin Chow, saying "marketing engineers are the hire of 2026" 3/ Josh Grant's "How to Hire Your First Marketing Engineer" This kind of content validated that this role and movement already existed. We just gave it a name and a standard. With such strong response to Marketing Engineering, we decided to upgrade the manifesto (and included a JD template if you want to hire one). To keep the momentum, we'll be launching a job board for Marketing Engineer roles and a Marketing Engineering Hackathon on June 6th with $40,000 in prizes in NYC. More on both shortly.

In August of last year, I was introduced to @semalkhalil via my friend @vitorialima_42. She described Semal as an incredibly talented, passionate, and interdisciplinary designer. I knew immediately I had to meet her! Fast forward 8 months, and we're so incredibly proud to have Semal as part of the @tryprofound team. The most impressive part is that she's been able to spread her attention across both product and brand design. One of the reasons the Profound brand is in such a good state is because of the work Semal's done. A truly special moment for us at Profound was our Union Square ad campaign. We lined it up with our Series C campaign so we could pair up our digital attention with some physical assets in the heart of the NYC transit system. This project was MASSIVE - more than 500 unique placements, and Semal absolutely crushed it in terms of creative direction and the execution. Thank you for everything, Semal! I'm excited to continue building this company with you! Take a look at her awesome story in our first of many in the Profound Profiles series.
