Theoretical algo:
- V_r = virality score of rumor content (high: emotion + novelty)
- V_f = virality score of factual war-disaster content (deaths, econ collapse, failures — often somber, weaker hook)
- Promotion ≈ f(engagement velocity, predicted future engagement)
When V_r >> V_f, rumor cluster gets:
- Top trending
- Massive impression multipliers
- Sustained rec loops (1× engage → 10× more similar content on FYP)
Result: Opportunity cost
- One mega-viral rumor wave → 100M impressions in 24–48h
- Equivalent factual war-cost threads rarely >1–5M without boosts
- Net: rumor virality cancels ~5–20× reach of factual critique posts (hope/wish-sharing drives exponential spread)
