The results of our CDFA Healthy Soils grant and our first native pollinator hedgerows planted about 6 years ago. Redbud in full bloom adds habitat and multiple benefits to our farm. We now have planted 11 miles on farm thanks to Xerces, CDFA and Nestle.

Onion harvest is in full swing at Terranova Ranch, central California. Terranova partners with Harris Fresh to provide healthy, nutritious food for families across the USA. Unfortunately, prices are just above break even this year. Go California Grown!

My golden, Lily, loves to eat walnuts this time of the year! Leaves the shell, just eats the nuts. We’re harvesting our last field next week.

We’re into excellent organic tomatoes @Terranova Ranch this year. We pick 24/7 to supply our cannery. In the evening the aroma of fresh, ripe tomatoes fills the air providing wholesome foods for all of the families in the USA and other countries. CA produces 1/3 of world supply.

We flipped the switch today for the first time on our 450hp pump that takes floodwater off the Kings River, 70,000 gpm, and will help prevent flooding downstream. The water will be put on our fields and recharge the aquifer. A real win for the Kings Sub-basin.

Today @CA_DWR announced that the GSPs for the Kings Subbasin, which includes MAGSA and 6 other GSAs, are recommended for approval. Read more: mcmullinarea.org/ca-department-…

Thank you Fresno County, UCSF, St Agnes, Fresno State, Fresno Hope, for the first Rural Mobile Health Program @Terranova Ranch today. Approximately 200 Farmworkers participated in screening for hypertension, diabetes, prescriptions, and referrals. Keeping Farmworkers healthy!

“There’s another option, and that’s to put it in the ground, where it could help to replenish groundwater supplies.” But you have to capture the storm flows before they go to the ocean.

Folsom Dam protects Sacramento from flooding, but California needs to save more of this precious water. We need to expand or add storage capacity on this river to help us get through drought years, which are sure to come.

@MerinoSi @steven_bolt4 Very simple; the fire retardant is 12% ammonium phosphate, an agricultural fertilizer.

@steven_bolt4 The wetting agent affect? The crop got to utilise the early rain faster so got up and going faster? My guess. Would be interesting to get a sample of the drop zone and next to it analysed for nutrients.

Any thoughts of why biomass increase/ lodging in oats where plane dropped fire retardant during February fire?
