My father, John Cherry, was one of the 400 people who was at the Audubon Ballroom in New York City 60 years ago on this date - February 21, 1965. Malcolm X was 39 years old when he was assassinated. Actor Ossie Davis eulogized Malcolm X as "our shining Black prince.

On the 56th anniversary of the funeral of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - which took place on Thursday, April 9, 1968 - I was honored to be with @RevJJackson as we presented him with the Leaders Network Mentorship Award.

It was a celebration fit for a King! We were proud to honor the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a meaningful, substantative and interactive day of discussion and performances at @AllStarsProject Hub in Chicago.
