@LarrySabato @nytimes While all of this is telling, is there any chance for Dems to take over the House majority with the flurry of mid-decade gerrymandered redistricting?

@thelauracoates @LZGranderson @SEC Why is the onus just on athletes? Fans dont need to wait for recruits. Are fams willing to stop watching the SEC. Losing eyeballs is just as powerful as losing athletes.

"The idea that the onus is only on black athletes to protest...I wonder why we're not calling on all student athletes to boycott...just the identification of just black students to deal w/ the issue seems inherently wrong to me." Me & @LZGranderson on calls for an @SEC #boycott

@Rory_Breaker_ If black athletes stopped going to these schools it would be impactful. But, fans dont need to wait for players. Are folks calling on recruits to make a big sacrifice willing to make the smaller sacrifice on to watch athletic events involving those schools? Ready to turn it off?

@erecasner @JuliusErving @NBA Was Doc the brightest light? Yes, but the ABA was LOADED w/talent. In Doc's first year w/the Sixers they reached the NBA Finals. Doc wasn't the only ABA refugee on the team. Their whole starting front line were ABA stars. And Mo Lucas on the opposing Blazers was an ABA star too.

All the talk is about Michael, Magic, Bird and now LeBron but @JuliusErving carried the @NBA and pro basketball in the 1970s damn near by himself when it came to entertainment and MUST SEE players in that era. I don’t think he gets enough praise for how FANtastic he was……

@erecasner @JuliusErving @NBA Jeez. No. Doc didn't leave the ABA until the ABA folded. The ABA had a LOT of talented players, but they had no TV contract and they were broke. Thompson, Gervin, Moses, Gilmore and other stars showed up in the NBA simultaneously. Doc ended up w/the 76ers cuz the Nets were broke.

@erecasner @JuliusErving @NBA Wanna say “most exciting”? Okay. But dont act like Doc was the only one, That is “wildly overstated” Pistol Pete, Earl Monroe’s Magic Show, Connie Hawkins soaring thru the air. And prime Kareem. And when the ABA, merged, Doc didnt come alone, Skywalker Thompson, Ice Man came too.

@dchometownboy @JuliusErving @NBA “Overstated”😳 U r TRIPPIN JUST the legend of him at Rucker Park is bigger and better than anyone else in the 70s and that ain’t counting the ABA where he was the best player in the world as far as excitement.

@erecasner @JuliusErving @NBA No, no, no. “He held up the NBA ALMOST By HIMSELF”:is trippin” I was there. Watched the NBA for all of the 70s. Doc was marvelous and thrilling, but he wasnt in the NBA for most of the 70s and during the years he was there he wasnt the only electrifying player to watch.

@SergeantMartee i kinda hate these lists. But putting Steph or Kobe ahead of Kareem is absurd. Loved Kobe. An all-time great but friggin no. He shot 44.7% from the field career. His best year at 46.9, was worse than Kareem’s worst year. Kobe is at best the third best Laker. Loved Kobe, but no.

@arhooptalk As a kid, I got to watch those games. Wilt was still great. Particularly on D. But at the point, the younger Kareem was better than him. Wilt was the best matchup in the league against Kareem, but Kareem averaged 32pts and 16 boards against Wilt in their matchups.

The Kareem skyhook. The most unstoppable weapon in NBA history- except for this guy. It’s OK to marvel at the job Rudy Gobert did on Jokic but nothing compares to what Wilt did in his mid 30s post ruptured patellar tendon against KAJ.

@marclamonthill Nov 2016, SCOTUS was 4-4, w/an open seat in the balance. Trump put out a list of the judges he'd nominate to federal bench. All this mess was in the balance, yet so black male voters stayed home. A number of black scholars/leaders encouraged them to do so. What did you do in '16?

@SergeantMartee Im not sure I agree. But Im not I disagree either. He is certainly in everyone’s conversation. I’ll also caveat that I never saw Jim Brown play. Just highlights, statistics & lore. But Barry was amazing. And like the other two in my big three Emmitt and Walter, extremely likable.

@SergeantMartee He is exactly the kind of player you worry about with long term damage. Maybe some specialists and researchers know better. Some guys with repeated concussions seem to live normally and some are never the same.

Dear #StJohns and Dear Kansas. For heavens sakes you arent shooting well. Maybe take a few mid-range shots instead of heaving three after three after three…and missing badly. Teams that shoot mid range shots well win. @arhooptalk @marcisenberg
