The key points about vaping (E-cigarettes) can be easily summarised. If you smoke, vaping is much safer; if you don’t smoke, don’t vape; marketing vapes to children is utterly unacceptable. I expand on these points in the article below. gov.uk/government/new…

Today marks another positive step for population health with the publication of a new Bill designed to tackle smoking and vaping. Ireland’s smoking rate is unacceptably high at 18%, but these measures will help to reduce it, and will help prevent children from starting smoking

Police in #Derry received a report yesterday, Wednesday 15th March, of animal cruelty in relation to a dog that was found injured and partially buried in Ballyarnett Country Park.  Just after 5pm, it was reported that a dog had been located approximately 10 feet away from a pathway leading to Cornshell Fields by a member of the public who was able to take it to a local veterinary practice for treatment. However, the dog was later put down.  Local officers have been to the Country Park and conducted checks of the location where the dog was found. They have also been checking CCTV in the area, speaking with residents and conducting house-to-house enquiries.  "We are aware of the level of concern and anger in relation to this absolutely sickening and shocking act, and we are liaising with Derry City and Strabane District Council," said Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Inspector Ryan Robb.  "Our appeal is to anyone who may have been in the Park yesterday and saw what happened, or anyone who knows who is responsible, to get in touch with us. "It was also reported yesterday that two men were seen in the area at around the time the dog was found. One of the men is described as being approximately 5'10 tall, well-built and wore a distinctive camouflage hooded top with the hood pulled up. The second man is described as being of a similar height, of a slim build with black hair and wore a dark blue tracksuit. These men are believed to have left the Park, in the direction of Cornshell Fields. We would ask these men to get in touch with us."  The number to contact police on in relation to this matter is 101, quoting reference number 1530 15/03/23.

Q2: What does cultural readiness for change mean to me? Improvement/transformation plans often use the language of "driving" change through the organisation/system. If we want large-scale, sustainable change, we need to grow it, not drive it. Graphic @MilFamLN #LeadingQi #QIHour

Again, George, you’re absolutely right. I believe the Germans and Japanese are way ahead of us in this regard. Keeping ppl in their homes is a critical part of ‘saving’ the health and social care services, and it’s what people really want.

@DrChrisLukeCork @NursingHomesIre Most older people would prefer to stay at home with a realistic home care package that actually allows them this choice.
