THE NEXT EXPERIMENT: What happens when you bring a knife... to a knife fight? For our next experiment, starting Wednesday, 4/15 at 10AM PT, we will be enabling the Dire Marsh - Sponsored Queue. This is a new experimental queue that is focused on learning a bit more about our early gear ecosystem. In this queue all players will enter with a free sponsored kit and be challenged to use what they find on Dire Marsh to upgrade themselves and get out! Details below. DIRE MARSH SPONSORED Details: The experiment will run for approximately 2 weeks, from 4/15 @ 10AM PT to 4/29 @ 10AM PT. We may change the end timing depending on anything we discover along the way that might warrant us to make an adjustment. --You will only be eligible to enter the queue if you (and your crew) have a free sponsored kit (white tier) equipped. --You can enter as a premade duo (crew fill off), premade trio, or crew fill into a trio. --The queue will only be for the Dire Marsh Zone. --To enter this queue, you can select "Dire Marsh Sponsored" from the zone list. What we will be observing and looking to understand: --How the game plays out with low fixed set gear conditions and caps. --How the zero to hero play works in low starting set gear conditions and caps. --Any technical issues that arise. As much as I am enjoying Marathon, it is sad to see. Within 3 weeks of launch we've had way better communication with the Marathon Community vs the Destiny community. Its baffling when one side coms within days and the other is months of radio silence with zero progress.

I fixed the horrendous character design in @MarathonTheGame without even trying. One request to they improved. If I worked on each character for 2 hours (MAX!) they would be immaculate. There's no excuse for what they released. None.

@PaulTassi @EndymionYT My only problem with a D3 is the fear of how much content they would try to resell us in D3. I have no problem with returning guns, fresh start, etc. My fear is how many times would I have to pay for the same content TWICE just for some minor mechanical changes.

@EndymionYT at this point that just means Destiny 3 which is, at best, 4-5 years away if they started working on it now. I mean I think they should, but D2 may have the life rung out of it at this point

Sony’s gotta back Marathon for the long term. It’s a genuinely good game, has a unique place in the market, has a core fanbase already doing everything from fan art to cosplay. Rare new (“new”) IP win on those fronts It’s pretty brutally hard, but that’s part of the reason it stands out. Playerbase is not gonna be mainstream blockbuster level, clearly, but at this point you have to let one of these survive and build in time. Marathon is a good pick for that

Well… concord was also backed by Sony lol. But Marathon obviously has far more traction. 80k concurrent all day yesterday, and I assume will get a boost this weekend. After a month will show real dedicated numbers. Prob 30-50k concurrent. Is that enough for Sony? We will see.

@A_dmg04 Today I received my first ever Destiny 2 PvP restriction (2 weeks) for supposedly using an ustable internet connection... which makes zero sense as my 1 Gig Internet is fully wired from my router to my PS5 console, using high speed internet cable. Already filled an appeal.

@MightyKeef As a long time fan, their 2 expansions a year backfired hard. They delayed the free update, and promised us a roadmap in October and it has been radio silence. The expansions aren't bad, but definitely could've been better

Is it still worth playing Destiny 2 at all, or are people at large, done with the game?

@Demetrius86 @MightyKeef Beg to differ. I think if Shadow of Collosus had extra boss fights it would've sold more. You cant just retexture and remake an old game 1 to 1 anymore and just give it a new coat of paint. There needs to be more to it, such as scrapped content (look at Xenoblade for example)
