@TerryDaynard @TD_Canada Terry thanks for highlighting we are reaching out to him to explain the ins and outs fertilizer needs forG&O —it’s good to see the national press covering the fert squeeze issues on farmers. The Feds fixing the BRM suite in short term is part of the solution.

Question for everyone. Has anyone not been able to buy fertilizer this spring? I know prices are high. I know you might have to wait for it's delivery But has anyone been told "it does not exist to purchase today"? Edit: I also do not mean prices pulled after major events.

The Strait of Hormuz has got to be the most expensive game of red light/green light in history. I cannot keep up. Is it open or closed this weekend?

High gas prices resulting from the Iran war are easy to see, but you don't see how fertilizer prices are skyrocketing. Much of the nitrogen fertilizer used in Ontario is imported from the Middle East and Russia. Farmers will have very tough choices to make, and I think the Ontario Legislature isn't paying enough attention. That's why I tried to get a committee to hear testimony from farmers and other stakeholders in the agri-food sector. @GrainFarmers @OntarioFarms

I represent Canadian farmers this week in Washington, D.C. It was an honour to join the @ASA_Soybean and Wisconsin soybean growers for meetings on Capitol Hill. We met with U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin and other representatives to discuss key soybean policy and trade issues.

Now the outlook is especially gloomy for farmers who still need to buy spring fertilizer, like Jeff Harrison of Quinte West in Ontario. "We're in a real bad situation now," Harrison said. reuters.com/business/energ…

The FFA backs CFR amendments that put Canadian producers first: a stronger credit multiplier for Canadian-made #ethanol and a minimum Canadian content requirement in gasoline. Without these fixes, foreign subsidies will keep displacing local grain demand and rural jobs. With them, Canada can keep ethanol’s climate benefits and economic value flowing through our own farms, plants, and communities.

NEW: This morning, our government welcomed a $24 million investment from Alinova Canada to build our nation’s first non-GMO soymilk powder processing plant in Morrisburg. Through the Regional Development Program, we are proud to support a project that will not only create 15 new jobs, but strengthen Ontario’s leadership in agri-food processing and fuel economic growth in Eastern Ontario. Yesterday, I was pleased to meet with Grain Growers of Canada representatives to discuss some of the critical issues their membership is facing. It was also great to attend their evening reception to connect with parliamentary colleagues and leaders in the grains field. What a great day engaging with this industry that contributes $6 billion to our economy! @SenateCA @GrainGrowers @CropLifeCanada

Had a great time attending yesterday’s @GrainFarmers of Ontario reception at Queen’s Park. GFO represents Ontario’s 28,000 barley, corn, oat, soybean and wheat farmers, and has become a trusted source of food for families across the world. Thank you to Chair Jeff Harrison, CEO Crosby Devitt and your team for maintaining a gold standard for responsible production and efficiency. Our government will keep supporting those who work every day to put food on our tables. 🌾 #OntarioGrainFarmers #MadeInOntario #SupportLocal #QueensPark
