@GoelByte I understand. Weekends, if available. It's something one has to be deliberate about. I'm female, by the way

Been working remotely at a startup for the last 2 months, but I barely write code from scratch. Most of my work is understanding an existing backend codebase and making changes. Sometimes I wonder how I'd perform in a JavaScript/backend interview tomorrow.

@Akintola_steve This thing. I pushed so many commits one day during a hackathon. Very bright green. Problem now is my usual contribution squares are so dull in comparison because the green shades are relative

Maintain an internal frame. Do the right thing, not for reciprocity, or cos someone's looking, but to satisfy that frame. The long lasting outcome is that nobody, esp. people who pretend to not know what they're doing, can gaslight you, esp. if you decide to "treat their fuckup"
Dhwani Nanavati@dhwaninanavati

can someone who is much older than me, has seen a lot of life etc etc please confirm that honesty and integrity do in fact produce positive outcomes in the long run? cuz I’m starting to get real cynical…….

"The sampling period is not incidental to the development of great performers—something to be excised in the interest of a head start—it is integral". I find it consoling.

How do I miss these kinds of hackathons? I built almost the exact thing, except that mine tracks debts plus revenue, expenses, inventory, & more... Didn't make top 10 for the hackathon I participated in. I saw the demos that made it and there's no reason why mine shouldn't have.
Name cannot be blank@hackSultan

The guy that won first place is 17 years old. He showed up at the hackathon demo day with videos of market women using his app and talking about it.

This article is spot on, but there’s one other reason why Messi hate has spread like wildfire this World Cup: ~15 years ago with the GOAT debate at its peak, hundreds of millions of young fans worldwide picked CR7 as their idol while he and Messi went band for band. And the battle was legendary. But for the past decade, Ronaldo fans have watched their GOAT slowly decline while an aging Messi remained on top of the world, surpassing Ronaldo on individual awards and lifting the game’s most prestigious trophy, which Ronaldo could never get near. Ronaldo’s millions of supporters now roam social media like a leaderless army who has lost the war. With the debate on the pitch settled and Ronaldo’s legacy capped, his fans desperately undermine Messi’s achievements in a futile attempt to close the ever-widening gap between stars. And I don’t blame them. But that is why, as football fans everywhere enjoy the glittering sunset of Messi’s unparalleled career, millions of Ronaldo diehards are reduced to complaints about referees and TikTok aura edits from 2017, while they watch a little boy from Rosario forever eclipse their childhood hero and take his rightful place as the greatest footballer to ever live.

@bakarepheranmi What impact does streaming culture have? The only reason its uselessness is not berated is because the actors and audience are largely male

More than 24 hours later and this post is still up amidst all the corrections. If you work for this type of person, anything your eye see, take am. They will lie against you with the righteousness of the Pope.

@Ssaasquatch They only bring that talk anytime Ronaldo is having a bad stretch and Messi is having a good spell or on the cusp of winning something big

@lidocaine_v2 I'm waiting for someone to say that FIFA decided not to award the Golden Ball to Messi, to cover their tracks. I know I won't have to wait long.

Relieved this World Cup is over. Made even the people you thought were smart appear dumb.
-valar morghulis-@eldivine

@opexvi Enough people called it out. Videos even trended about it and a reporter threatened to release a break down and evidence of FIFA’s pro Messi meddling. There’s a reason only England and Spain games were officiated largely properly. They had to stop the nonsense.

He fought through hate, defeats, pressure, pains, manipulations, his own people turned against him, can’t imagine his metal state during those times, he retired, came back, and he still won. A mentality monster! No matter what happens today, he still won. The GOAT🐐

To the little boy from Rosario 🇦🇷, One who was once too quiet, too fragile, too weak, too small - with a body that betrayed him but with dreams strong enough to power through. The little boy from Rosario who left home before he was ready, burdened with the hopes of millions before he was old enough to carry his own. To that little boy, I write as tonight might be your final dance. 🇦🇷 🇪🇸 You conquered Europe, conquered every record that they said would never fall - to the world, you were an undisputed genius but everytime you put on the Argentine camiseta, he felt like a curse trailed you. One final lost after another. What mattered to you the most, to bring joy to the cot that cradled you was constantly out of your reach. Every defeat you suffered kept reminding us, that maybe, you're just as human as we are. Every time you cried from the bench with swollen feet, we watched and are reminded, maybe you're just as human. You retired and we thought your story was over - we could still make peace with the joy you've given us from club spectacle. Like the Phoenix that you are, you rose from the ashes that was designed to bury you - you walked back into storms that was orchestrated to sink you. My dear little boy from Rosario 🇦🇷, you walked back to the pitch - fingers pointed to your grandmother who first believed, doubled the joy you've always brought us, fulfilled your lifelong dreams, made new records and broke your own records. I'm not even Argentine but you've spurred me to permanently chant: "Soy hincha de la Selección, La aliento con el corazón Ganamos la tercera con Lionel Queremos ser campeones otra vez" Tonight is not just another final, Muchacho. Tonight is not just about the hunt for another trophy, Lionel. Tonight is about the compression of a 2-decade story line from 2006 to 2026. All the tears, heartbreaks, all the doubts & how you repeatedly resurrected with no points left to prove. We might not have existed in the times of Shakespeare, Alexander the Great, Michangelo, Plato, Isaac Newton - but it's been the absolute privilege of our lives to have existed while you did, the absolute honor of our lives to have been your audience. Long after stadiums rot into the ground in silence, and goals get forgotten - we will always remember how you made us feel. One day when we're all frail and rottening in our grandpa era, our grandchildren will feel electric surges just from touching us - and it will be difficult for us to explain that it was your gift to us 70 years back. Maybe your last dance, maybe one more dance - but we're privileged to be dancing with you again, Mi Capitan. 🐐 🇦🇷
