@CTVCalgary It was a very bright sunny morning and the sun was right in the eyes. The drivers need to be extra cautious and the pedestrians need to look for approaching vehicles before crossing. Hope the pedestrians, who were hit, recover quickly 🙏

@nenshi There's no way rural Alberta will be dumb enough to put in an NDP government again. We know Edmund did well cuz they're a lost cause. Our only hope is in Calgary and rural Alberta to keep this crook out. Keep Alberta rat free

Danielle Smith is using the notwithstanding clause to protect herself while crushing individuals' rights and freedoms. That’s not freedom, that’s cowardice. And Albertans won’t stand for it.

It’s a surreal moment. Today, I take my seat in the Legislature for the first time as the MLA for Edmonton-Strathcona and Leader of the Official Opposition. Representing Albertans in this chamber is an incredible honour of a lifetime and a responsibility that can never be taken for granted. I’m deeply grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me to do this work.

Provincial government approves third Calgary intersection for automated traffic enforcement ℹ️ In response to concerns raised by local law enforcement regarding unsafe speeds and collision frequency at several intersections, the Calgary Police Service (CPS) has received approval from the provincial government to resume the use of Automated Traffic Enforcement (ATE) at specific locations. In December 2024, mandatory restrictions resulted in the removal of ATE on all provincial highways, as well as limiting the use of Intersection Safety Devices (ISDs) for red-light enforcement only on non-provincial roads and connectors. This change also resulted in the removal of speed-on-green ISDs at intersections. Law enforcement agencies are permitted to submit a business case exemption request to the provincial government to reinstate the use of ATE at high-risk areas for serious-injury or fatal collisions. Last year, there were 29 fatal collisions on Calgary roads, a 10-year high. So far this year, there have been 25 fatal collisions in Calgary, including five fatal motorcycle collisions. 📸 As of Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, ISDs for both red-light and speed enforcement will resume at the following location: 🔹Eastbound 16 Avenue and 10 Street N.W. On Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025, a 20-year-old man who was believed to be operating a motorcycle at a high rate of speed, entered into the intersection at 16 Avenue and 10 Street N.W., on a red traffic signal. The rider struck another vehicle, and ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Additional locations for ATE will be announced pending approval from the provincial government. 🌐 For more information, visit: newsroom.calgary.ca/media-advisory…

Less than 2 weeks ago @MarkJCarney told me in person that C-69 was a barrier to large national energy projects and needed to be dealt with. Now he says he has no intention to do anything with it. Make no mistake. If this law stays there will be few if any large scale energy infrastructure projects built in this country and Alberta and Saskatchewan will be cut off from international markets. This means Canada will become MORE vulnerable to and overly dependent on the United States. Albertans will not tolerate this and neither will I. Hopefully this election results in a new Prime Minister that can be trusted to get rid of these terrible policies.

@ABDanielleSmith @PierrePoilievre Unfortunately oil companies jacked up the price over the past 2 weeks so we are at the exact same place as we were. $70 a barrel and we're paying $1.40 at the pump????

After years of relentless pressure from @PierrePoilievre and provincial conservative governments across the country, the Liberal/NDP coalition in Ottawa has finally scrapped its punishing consumer carbon tax which made Canadians poorer. Starting today, you’ll save 17.6¢ per litre on gas and diesel and $4 per GJ on home heating- putting hundreds of dollars back in the pockets of every Alberta family. That’s an average of $215 per year in fuel savings and $480 per year in home heating savings. We expect retailers to pass on these savings in full. We are watching and will hold them accountable so Albertans get the tax break they deserve.
