The United States versus Elon R. Musk
Colin Powell once said that the US military forged after desegregation in 1948 became the largest & most significant merit-based organization in the US, because modern armed forces cannot rely on institutionalized misogyny & racial segregation. Hegseth has undermined all that.

Pete Hegseth fired the Army chief of chaplains in the middle of an active war. Maj. Gen. William Green enlisted out of high school as an artillery crewman. Left the Army, went to divinity school, came back as a chaplain because the calling brought him back to soldiers, not away from them. Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling served alongside him at Fort Lewis and with the 1st Armored Division in Germany. He describes Green as never confined to a chapel - always in the motor pools, the barracks, sitting with young soldiers who didn't have words for what they were dealing with. Green didn't ask soldiers what they believed before he cared for them. That's not incidental. That's the constitutional framework. The Army Chaplain Corps exists within the First Amendment's dual mandate: provide for religious needs while ensuring every soldier, regardless of belief, feels supported. The corps has Jewish chaplains, Muslim chaplains, Buddhist chaplains, Sikh chaplains. The oath every soldier takes is to the Constitution, not to a religion. Hegseth has said American soldiers are fighting for Jesus. That's not a personal reflection when it comes from the Secretary of Defense's office. It carries institutional weight. It reshapes culture. It redefines the purpose of military service in ways the First Amendment doesn't permit. Green was fired alongside Army Chief of Staff Randy George and the commander of Army Training Command Dave Hodne. This happened while the United States is six weeks into an active war with Iran, with 13 service members dead and the death toll rising. Hertling was standing above the Gettysburg battlefield when his phone buzzed with the news. He had been teaching MBA students about moral high ground. He writes that Green's firing says less about Green than about where the institution is heading. He's right. And the direction is documented.

We can have safe and secure elections in 2026 — if we work for it. The good news is the plan to defend the vote is already in action. Here are the highlights: bit.ly/41OHwrA

Pete Hegseth has cut ALL educational funds for active-duty service members at Harvard and Princeton (despite him attending these schools) in favor of Christian-affiliated colleges. Our service members deserve the support they need to finish their studies, regardless of which school they attend or their religious beliefs. I’m again calling for Hegseth’s resignation on the grounds of limiting academic freedom and disregarding the separation of Church and State.

WARRIORS FIRST: Hegseth cuts 93 military fellowships at Harvard, Princeton, replacing them with Hillsdale and Liberty University. New schools were selected for "intellectual freedom" and limited ties to foreign adversaries. Hegseth holds degrees from both Princeton and Harvard's Kennedy School. foxnews.com/politics/hegse…

Targeting Black Virginians with painful imagery of the KKK and the Jim Crow Era is disgusting, abhorrent, and should have no place in our politics. It is unacceptable and must be condemned unilaterally. Jen Kiggans’ silence makes her complicit.

Closing U.S. Forest Service research stations in California right now isn't just reckless — it's dangerous. With historically low snowpack and peak fire season arriving early, we need MORE federal resources, not less. I will fight to keep these stations open and kill this plan!
