@deez_nutts2007 @gfontana767 At least it wasn’t over 100°! 😅😅😅 I was actually freezing most of the show. Not pictured is the blanket I had wrapped around me. It was pretty gusty and 68°. Would have been the perfect temps without that wind.

Today was a long one, and I’m just now getting a chance to sit down and process it all. We got in line at the air show at 8am for gates that opened at 9am. That’s pretty standard for us, most shows that we go to don’t allow people to line up much earlier. But things have changed since last year, and security is clearly on a much higher alert. I’m truly grateful the base was able to put on the show, but the lack of manpower and organization made for a tough experience. Even being close to the front, it took us until 9:45am just to park, and we didn’t make it through the gates until noon, right as opening ceremonies were starting. We were rushing to find a spot while hearing the Harriers spool up, still outside security just minutes before. We’re thankful we made it in at all, but we know a lot of people didn’t. Some of our friends got in line not long after us and didn’t get through until 2pm, by then, most of the show was already over. We’re exhausted tonight, so I’ll start going through photos and videos tomorrow. Early flight home in the morning.

Looks like we will be shutting down here in Northern IL as we are out of hours. Todays trucking isn’t like the good old days. When a good driver never ran out of hours.

It is what you make it in this industry. There are all types of jobs, salaries, and benefits. It depends on how hard you want to work, home time, and benefits. Want to be home every night with good hourly pay? Haul gasoline. You want the absolute chill job? Run dedicated. You really don't like driving much? Become a yard jockey. So many options man.

I just hit 2 years in my lease. 251,600 miles, at a profit of $1.68 per mile. That's $422k in 2 years. I've paid down debt, fixed my credit, and put myself in an incredible position for the future. Don't doubt yourself. You're the only way standing in your way.

I also learned from a service member with the Republic of Singapore Air Force's 425th Fighter Squadron that they will be relocated to Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Arkansas within the next year and that this was their final appearance at Luke Days.

@zaphod58 @protossbonjwa I took my motorcycle to get around the traffic but the heat was brutal up by the flight line i left after Blue Angels. Then it took an hour to find my bike when i tried to leave 😂

@protossbonjwa It wasn't AS bad when I was able to sit down and use the umbrella to get some shade, but yeah it was constant up and down and standing along the fence as they were flying so I could get the shots. Lots of shots, even with leaving early.

I would have loved to tough it out at Luke Days and shoot the Thunderbirds and some of the afternoon acts, but Jesus it was bad. There were 400 heat related injuries with 30 transports Saturday, and oh my way out Sunday they were responding to someone down.

@TJandCasper I-10 and I -40 are full of nothing but foreign drivers speeding and driving reckless. Then taking forever at the fuel pump because they don’t understand how it works

A truck next to me, just took off rolling. Maybe he couldn’t read the DOT posts and warnings I don’t really know. Driving on a road that is officially closed can spell big trouble. Anything that goes wrong is 💯on you. Insurance will not cover any damage you might do to your vehicle. Not to mention the expensive tickets involved.
