We are looking for 2x Senior Technical Artists to work on a new project at Epic Games. "You will play a crucial role in solving character-related challenges and optimizing the character implementation pipeline". And of course, working with the latest features in Unreal Engine 5.

@AronDurkin @riggingdojo @michaelCuevas27 From my experience in games states side Tech Animator usually means someone working on the engine side animation logic and implementation. The person working on rigging and pipeline is referred to as a technical artist or sometimes a character technical artist.

@michaelCuevas27 Everyone defines it different and a lot of us do a lot of this stuff anyway but writing tools / pipeline / rigging / runtime anim stuff. Might be more a UK term. Character TD. Pipeline TD. Character Tech Artist kinda all overlap I guess. This business needs standards lol

The hardest position to fill in the last few years has been VFX (for our team at least) Easiest is probably animation but that’s probably due to networking Not sure how saturated it is but increased online schools , social media, and remote has made finding animators relatively easy

Thinking about HOA's this morning while doing yard work. So much of the joy of owning a house to me is engaging with nature and understanding/learning how I fit in. The balance has not always been ideal to me and I'm interested in growing to be more harmonious.

@mike_acton Feels like why so many games with a fishing mini game only let you fish in pre defined fishing spots.

Design isn't "add a fishing minigame" - it's uncovering and enumerating all the implicit constraints, deciding whether or not they're worth solving, how much they are worth solving for, and finding a solution cheaper than that in context. It's a million questions just like this.

@henningsanden People come in all shapes and sizes. Not sure what the most accurate anatomy would be. Maybe with enough data you could create the average anatomy of a human.
