@Dollartree_1 @KeyboardMonkey3 The edge only matters over millions of bets. To the average person chunking a $300 depo and playing mines it literally means nothing lol. I’ve won a million dollars on stake 3% edge plinko for example. Edge means nothing. Convince me otherwise lol

@TJStats I’m a Sloan guy, but does a top 100 list not measure current skill? Ceiling should be a factor yes, but why is it valued more than to-date statistics?

While Anderson is more polished, I really don’t think there’s an 11 spot gap between the two. Sloan has the higher ceiling undoubtedly, and has had a few starts that show that off this year. With some command repair he’s genuinely a Gerrit Cole comp. Anderson is neck and neck with Tolle as the best pitching prospect in baseball. Both have a serious case of being top 5 on this list Sloan isn’t far away, he’s still so young

@dynastyinfo411 No Sloan is kinda ridiculous. I’m sure your reasoning is his AA performance thus far, still unfair

@noahdummett @Dollartree_1 Noah, now that this edge talk is seemingly cleared up, can we discuss the thought process behind the last minute switch of airdrop 3? How do you sleep at night knowing thousands of players, and billions of dollars wagered, feel they got cheated?

Many reasons - simplicity, commercials, UX. Bonusing is also a big factor in smoothing out edge disparity between player volatility levels. Fairly happy with where this game and our general strategy is at, but I respect that you have differing views there. Build the game how you would and prove me wrong; competition is good for the space 🫡

The idea for Blitz was born of something called a veridical paradox, which is a fancy way of saying something that seems counterintuitive but is nonetheless true. A good example of one of these is the birthday problem: How many people need to be in a room before it's more likely than not that two of them share a birthday? Initial logic would tell you that it should be somewhere in the range of 180-200 people, since you'd assume that at least 50% of the 365 days in the year need to be covered; surprisingly though, the answer is 23 people. I won't give you the entire rationale behind how it comes out to 23 since it's more fun to try and consider it yourself, but the math is correct. Recently, I was getting coffee with a friend and talking about these paradoxes, when he had the idea that you could make a great original game from the 'two-deck matching problem' which states: Take two shuffled decks of cards. Flip through both at the same time, one card from each deck simultaneously. What's the probability that at least one pair of cards matches (exact same card, same position in the deck) at some point? I guessed around the 15% mark, but the answer is that about 63%(!!!) of the time, there will be a match within the two decks. And so we got to work. After a considerable amount of back and forth between us, throwing around potential bet mechanics and design iterations, Blitz came to be. It's the first of many completely fresh Original Games we'll be putting out this year, hopefully you guys enjoy!
