Not a good showing from Valakari that. Defensive selection baffling then didnt respond at all to Airdrie exposing it repeatedly. Great result to grind out 3pts in though, Airdrie are a really good side. Seeing us clinical is nice to see.

@JimSpenceDundee Unfortunately for us at the time, Airdrie were in contention for promotion to the premier league. What was the alternative? Like Falkirk, miss out? Personally I wish we, like Ayr now, are still in our spiritual home but it's done and we are stuck with this soul-less arena

Saints well worth their lead. But so many empty seats brings home the madness of the time we decided that 10,000 capacity all seated grounds was a smart move.

The first arcade I played: Defender The sound effects live rent free in my head, and I spent a small fortune on this one. Notoriously tough, it sold over 55,000 cabinets, grossed over $1 billion in quarters (some of those were mine!), and earned a 2025 World Video Game Hall of Fame induction for defining hardcore arcade play. Designed by Eugene Jarvis, players pilot a spaceship across a horizontally scrolling alien planet, blasting foes like Landers, Mutants, and Baiters while rescuing abducted humanoids before they transform. If that doesn't scream early 80s, I don't know what does.

I remember the strong divide between "Sensible Soccer" and "Kick Off" fans. I'm in the Sensible Soccer camp: smoother graphics, better ball control, and brilliant sounds. Don't get me wrong, Kick Off (1 and 2) was great too, but I'd pick Sensible World of Soccer (Sensible Software, 1994). Other football/soccer games like MicroProse Soccer (1988), Goal (1993), or Player Manager (1990) existed, but Sensible Soccer probably holds the #1 legacy spot - unless I am overlooking a major title? Which was your favorite?
