In Berlin, a ban on Soviet symbols will be introduced on May 8 and 9. It will also be forbidden to perform songs from the war years, reported the Berliner Morgenpost newspaper. The measures will be based on the rules that have been in effect in recent years. Exceptions will be made for diplomats and veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

Bloomberg: China's unprecedented move against US sanctions against Iran has provoked the risk of a major confrontation
🔻 Unlike its previous practice, when it tried to circumvent US sanctions informally or through intermediaries, China has now officially declared that it does not recognize unilateral US sanctions against third countries (such as Iran or Russia) and has taken its trade with them to an unprecedented level.
🔻 The US administration has threatened to impose "secondary sanctions" against Chinese banks. However, sanctions against major Chinese banks could cause a large-scale shock in global financial markets and disrupt global supply chains.
🔻 This move by Beijing is no longer just a trade rivalry, but a "financial Cold War" aimed at weakening the dollar's hegemony.
🔻 According to Bloomberg, the world has reached a point where the US sanctions tool is facing its most serious challenge since the Second World War.
🔻 If Washington backs down, the sanctions mechanism could be weakened forever, and in the case of tough measures, there is a risk of a complete breakdown of the global economic system.

Iran's naval forces just struck a U.S. warship with 2 missiles as it attempted to illegally cross the Strait of Hormuz, Fars reported. The rogue ship was near Jask Island after it ignored Iran's warnings, and so it found out who is in charge before capitulating, turning around and sailing away. How will Trump respond now that Iran has called out his “humanitarian” bluff?

A senior Iranian military official said on Monday that Tehran had no plans to target the United Arab Emirates, Iranian state media IRIB reported, Anadolu reports.
A major fire broke out at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone on Monday after what UAE authorities said was a drone attack launched from Iran. Civil defense teams were dispatched to contain the blaze, with reports of three moderate injuries.
