Recently, it’s become very clear that our community is being threatened by bad actors who are violating multiple Shopify policies without being punished. Shopify likely doesn’t have a system in place (or it isn’t working as it should yet) and shady apps exploit that. Time to do something about it. Here's my idea: - I invite credible app developers to join a private Discord server (strictly invite-only, only verified identities, 100% trusted). - We share evidence about bad actors in our categories, server is well structured and easy to navigate, all violations are timestamped, tracked and updated. Sooner or later, Shopify will act (I honestly believe they care about this) and then we will share all of the well documented evidence with them. Who’s in?

This Shopify app was clearly buying fake 5-star reviews and then didn't pay someone, so they got spammed with 1-star reviews instead which tanked their rating to 2.9 🤣 I have no idea how it passed through Shopify review approval system and got published. Anyone else feeling the new review purge coming? 🤣

We shipped a small thing that's actually a big thing. Or let's say that @delyan_peev did. @SelfServeApp Editing & Upsells now lets you put upsells on the Thank You page. I spoke with a merchant, and he said that he doesn't want to use the one-click post-purchase pages because he thinks they are too intrusive. The Thank You page catches everyone. Every customer. Every order. The exact moment after they've clicked pay. It is also the second-highest-converting upsell surface. If you're on SelfServe, it's already in your dashboard. If you're not on SelfServe and you're running a Shopify store with more than a couple of orders a day, this is roughly the highest-leverage 20 minutes you can spend on your post-purchase setup this month.

As much as I've grown to like AI, I'm kind of tired of seeing people talk about it all the time 😂 Can we diversify a bit, please? 😂

@Shopify @ShopifyDevs does anyone know if post-purchase extension requests take as long as new app reviews? We've been waiting extremely long for a new app review. Trying to find out if post-purchase extension requests for existing apps is to be faster.

@Shopify @ShopifyDevs we've been waiting for over a month to hear something from Shopify on a payment integration we submitted. I see it has been installed on a reviewer's store a month ago, but still no word from Shopify and it still says "in the process of assigning a reviewer" in Partners. I'm afraid something went wrong.

@Shopify sorry, guys, but it's super disappointing how support has been handling a case we've had for a week now. We have a verified payment partner that still cannot create payment extensions and we've been repeatedly promised the issue will be fixed "in 7-8 hours" or "urgently". A week later, still nothing... Has anyone else had to deal with this @ShopifyDevs? What's the way to actually get it done? I'm desperate at this point, hope X helps...

@alexanderhupfer Pretty popular as far as I'm concerned. A good 90+% of the apps don't even need the negligible performance/UX improvement this provides.

Unpopular opinion: deploying your app on the edge is totally pointless, because the database is still central.
