Despite the war, today marked the start of classes after Nowruz in Iran. Every student showed up online, zero absences. And actively engaged in discussions. This is the unstoppable spirit of Iranians, the same spirit that will rebuild our future.

Michael Parenti explains why the US🇺🇸 has conducted so many covert CIA and over military interventions since WW2, and destroys the myth that the US intervenes to support ‘democracy’. Remember this as Trump threats to bomb Iran back to the Stone Age.
Afshin Rattansi@afshinrattansi

‘The US government is the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today.’ -Martin Luther King Jr. said this exactly 59 years ago today as the US was committing daily war crimes in Vietnam With Donald Trump’s threats to bomb Iran back to the Stone Age, and the long list of the US’ wars since Vietnam, MLK Jr.’s words are still true today. The US is nothing but a force for destruction and barbarism.

🇧🇭 Bahrain is not like the other Gulf states, Danish-Bahraini activist Maryam Al-Khawaja told Drop Site. “The Al-Khalifas are occupiers” – and not seen as legitimate rulers in the eyes of the Shia majority they govern. Parliament was dissolved in 1975 after refusing to renew a U.S.-linked base arrangement. Since then, authorities have pursued aggressive demographic engineering, naturalizing foreign Sunnis to build a loyalist security apparatus. Al-Khawaja told Drop Site the Abraham Accords, Mossad ties, and U.S. bases do not reflect the population’s will. “They violently took over Bahrain and have ruled violently since then” – with western backing. @ryangrim | @MazMHussain | @MARYAMALKHAWAJA

this is the same guy, Sean Bell (@BellusUK), the Sky News "military analyst", who described a 4 year old Palestinian, Ruqaya Ahmad, who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers, as a "young lady" when a bullet "found its way" into the van she was in. fuck you. @SkyNews
Hamza Yusuf@Hamza_a96

“It brings a human dimension to the war…” says Sky News’ military analyst about a missing American pilot from an F-15 jet. Has Sky News ever raised that same human dimension about the US and Israel’s carpet bombing of Gaza, Lebanon and Iran?

Terrifying reality check. Al Jazeera confirms the US and Israel have bombed over 760 schools and 350 health centers in Iran. They are intentionally obliterating mental health hospitals and residential markets. The scale of these war crimes is absolutely sickening.

These filth are Albanese and Wong's mates. They invite the president to our land so that they can display their subservience. @AlboMP Murdering school girls in Iran and kids in Gaza is their trademark.

Absolute bombshell. Israel's National Security Minister admits on live TV he has officially ordered red uniforms and is constructing a death row wing to execute Palestinian captives. He brags they can no longer sleep at night. Absolute fascism exposed.

The US is probably a more restrictive society than Iran's. Iranian women are among the best educated in the world and often speak multiple languages and have read extensively. But yes, American Karens know the menu at Starbucks, so they can get upset when the staff gets their order a teensy weensy bit wrong. Behind closed doors everything is possible in Iran. Persian culture is poetic, sensual, subtle, refined and passionate to a degree flat, loud, boisterous, numbing, coarse American culture cannot fathom. Yes, many Iranians drink alcohol. Apart from Christian minorities nobody can legally produce wine, but, for example, Dr. Patrick Ringgenberg, a Swiss expert on Iran, says he only started drinking in Iran cause he didn't want to be the only one not drinking at parties. He's met Iranians with impressive whiskey collections. And is it really a mark of a great society that alcohol is widely produced? Western countries see a dramatic increase of alcohol related emergencies every weekend. Iran had a very long tradition in wine making and it's one of the oldest civilizations to do so. Yes, it's mostly illegal since 1979, but the US had its own flirtation with prohibition not so long ago. Meanwhile US society is so ruined when it comes to upward social mobility, the circumstances needed to have healthy childhoods and strong family ties and other opportunities that millions turn to a wide variety of illegal chemical substances to numb the existential angst and pain. Poetry features heavily in Iranian culture, even in every day life. I've been told that Iranians will sometimes make the last word of a sentence randomly rhyme. Someone will say deracht meracht for example, with deracht meaning tree and meracht added randomly. Many Iranians can recite poetry and philosophy. Americans will invoke the constitution without ever having read the document. And if you want to find crazy religious fanatics you'll find some of the worst one running the US army. Real nutters who believe Jews must go to Israel so Jesus can return to earth setting off an apocalypse. Given that Israel is arguably the country most likely to use nuclear weapons they may get their wish minus the Jesus doing a comeback bit. Fun note, Farsi has two words for a fart, one for a loud one and one for a silent one, choz and guz, which are also insults. You guess which one someone like Trump is, a loud one or a quiet one. Certainly one who created an embarassing stink for himself when he primitively thought killing the guy who put a ban Iran developping nuclear weapons was the cool thing to do.
