@LetCounty @CoachWB33 I’m looking at their roster - tell me what kids are from NYC and/or Buffalo? I see parents at games - maybe this is happening in NYC privates where you can hop on transit and move easily between boroughs but kids are commuting 150-200 miles to attend HS with no dorms.

@demolitionguru @CoachWB33 You are telling me CBA isn’t recruiting?? They have to recruit I order to keep their doors open. You don’t think catholic schools recruit in the NYC area? Buffalo? You can’t be that naive.

The public vs private high school debate in NY is interesting. If associated with a public school u claim that the privates recruit & they do. With that being said, the best public school programs/coaches are recruiting as well. Just the reality of the situation. #JustCompete

@LetCounty @CoachWB33 What private school has out of State kids or foriegn players on their roster? The CBA boys team has been there since 6th & 7th grade. There were no giants (kids over 6’8”) on that team, so when they were 12-13 yrs old are you saying CBA recruited them?

@CoachWB33 You can’t possibly think this is an even playing field, right? The privates can recruit from multiple states and countries. The publics can “recruit” from a few miles and are limited to those who have purchased a home. It’s called the PUBLIC High school athletic association

@NYSPHSAA A school called Christian Brothers winning a public school championship would get rejected by Saturday Night Live writers as too absurd

@NYSPHSAA Honestly - shut up. As a PUBLIC school organization you have FAILED. Every sport has PRIVATE schools playing and winning the championship. Why is public even in the name of the association. Stop selling out public schools kids to the wishes of private schools. Have a backbone.

@NYSPHSAA CBA Albany has 72 boys in a graduating class. 280 in the High School. They play in AAA classification with the likes of Shaker (2,085 students 9-12), beat Fairport (1,182 students), figure half are boys. Parents pay both public school taxes and tuition. Where is advantage?

CBA's second state title (first came in 2010 -- Class AA) caps a 25-0 campaign. Two missions were to go undefeated and win a state championship. Done deal.

@KMaherNews12 @NYSPHSAA As a former hoop coach in Section II - we won 2 large school state titles at Schenectady, we also lost in section to better private schools in certain years. Sometimes it comes together, other times it doesn’t. Since 1979 in large school hoop, privates have only won 10 titles.

It's happened again! Carle Place (boys) & William Floyd (girls) lose to NON-PUBLIC SCHOOLS in the state basketball playoffs. Carle Place lost to an Albany area charter school. Floyd lost to a Rochester private school. Something needs to be done about this. @NYSPHSAA

@demolitionguru @CoachWB33 I just mean that a kid that commits to a service academy typically does not just make that decision based on basketball.

Shane Kirker of Berne Knox is the best player in Section 2 IMO. He can play at either local D1 Program without question & many others as well. At 6'7 he has the size, skill & hoops IQ to be a good one at the next level. Just my two cents.

@sienasouped @CoachWB33 A D1 offer is a D1 offer according to the NCAA and if the head coach that recruited you leaves the program you can void the commitment

JT Vogel…ice water in his veins. ❄️ Vogel had 6 points for @cbaalbany in last night’s Class AAA semifinal clash with Green Tech, and they all came when the Brothers needed them the most. After the Soaring Eagles had tied the game at 35 in the fourth quarter, Vogel delivered a clutch, go-ahead triple and followed that up with another one moments later to give CBA some cushion, as they were able to push past the upset-minded four-seed, 43-36. Survive and advance…that’s the name of the game, and the top-seeded, still-undefeated Brothers are movin’ on to the AAA championship game, where they’ll get a shot at the defending champs, Shaker. @jtvogel3 @Section_2_hoops @Hoops518
