I used to think mothers in law testing the ladies their sons intend to marry was just something people say until it happened to me. He invited me to meet her. She spent hours poking at everything,my cooking, my job, how I speak. I smiled through all of it. Until she slid a list across the table. Things I needed to change before she could approve the relationship. I folded it neatly, put it in my bag, greeted her, and left.

These things bother me, maybe even hurt me, and it is because we are Christians. It doesn’t even matter who you choose to vote for, but as a Christian, you have a moral duty to be straightforward about it, not crafty. The other day, you said you were voting for Peter Obi, yet you mischaracterized his person and his character in order to denounce him as evil. People saw through that and accused you of hypocrisy, that you didn’t actually like him and weren’t going to vote for him. I didn’t notice it then. Now, you have come out to outrightly call him evil, equate him with Tinubu, and say you would rather waste your vote on a man who cosplays politics. He alone is serving as National Chairman and Presidential Candidate of his own party. The same person who was suspended in 2019 by the same party for allegations such as misappropriation of funds. To what end? Is the goal politics or the nation? Is the aim of us all not to stop this bloodshed? The economic apocalypse, and the literal erasure of the collective national future? So, on what basis, as a Christian, do you call Peter Obi evil? To call someone evil, they must have done evil. Peter Obi has not done that politically. You complain about the people he is aligning with. Well, welcome to politics. It operates in a fallen world with fallen people. He cannot go up against a political leviathan like Tinubu alone, and those with the influence to challenge that system may not be the best of people. Unless, of course, we expect him to sell us an unrealistic dream and go it alone. But difficult alliances like these are often necessary to achieve a greater good. Remember the Scriptures. Even God tolerated the sinfulness of humanity until Christ came. That is why He gave laws that regulated, even if they did not fully endorse, morally complex realities like slavery, until the fullness of redemption came through the Messiah. God showed forbearance in a fallen world. In the same way, we can, and perhaps should, exercise discernment and tolerance regarding the structures and decisions Peter Gregory Obi may need to navigate in order to become President. If this were another person forming alliances with figures like Atiku or Aregbesola, I would be concerned and unwilling to support it. But this is Peter Obi, whom we all know and believe would rather die than compromise his core values. So why not support him? And if you cannot support him, why come online to subtly dismiss him while still claiming that you do? That is what truly bothers me, the dishonesty. Just six days ago, you described him as the “lesser evil" that you were going to vote for regardless. Perhaps you used that to cushion the expected backlash. Today, he is as evil as Tinubu, and you are no longer supporting him, choosing instead to waste your vote. So now, Peter Obi is no longer the lesser evil? A man widely known as having a clean political record is suddenly evil? Surprisingly, people point out the gimmick. Come online to criticize him and still say you are voting for him. Get the expected backlash, and then use that pretext to say you are not voting for him anymore. It is interesting. Finally, I don't care who anyone votes for. But to kill the character of a man because of your agenda is not right as a Christian. It is dishonest. It borders on bearing false witness, and as Christians, that is a sin. God is watching all.

@Yemihazan You can literally support a rock. I don’t give a fuck, but if you support a man whose government champions loading the society with “repentant terrorists” then fuck you and fuck your freedom to vote.

I personally don't care about who anyone supports outside Peter Obi, but if you support Tinubu?? YES, that person doesn't want the progress of this country, and deserve to be bullied thoroughly too.
The_Bearded_Dr_Sina@the_beardedsina

Okay... I really don't understand the TL So if someone doesn't support your candidate, the person doesn't want Nigeria to progress? So if someone doesn't support Peter Obi, the person is an enemy of progress and hater of Nigeria? Is that what it is now?

Isn’t it very weird how the brain of the average Nigerian works? A social impact advocate should not be yoked with anything that impacts people as long as it has APC ties. BUT Our political messiah can eat from the same plate with the worst of Nigerian politicians.

Haha. Of course not, they don’t matter. I’m a gentleman man,so I’ll remain civil I wasn’t even in the country on that date as I was at the Mastercard foundation Baobab summit in Nairobi speaking to young people. Happy to speak to young people in Lagos as well. Please invite me🤷🏽‍♂️

If Tinubu’s administration funds anything with taxpayers’ money, as a youth, you should attend and get your dividends of democracy. I don't have a problem with @Tunde_OD speaking here; Nigeria belongs to us all, it’s not Tinubu’s property. Some of you are yet to resign from UBA, meanwhile, @TonyOElumelu supports BAT. Also, some of you have submitted your business proposals to apply for his annual grants. Also, it makes no sense for Tunde to fight the government outright, he is going to lose. El Rufai is in bed with Peter Obi, David Mark, and Aregbe; with all of this in place, everyone is a hypocrite. You can't watch what El Rufai did to Southern Kaduna people, Aregbe, who was nicknamed Hafusa by paying half salary and then supporting Obi’s while defecating on @Tunde_OD You can't support the partnership of El Rufai and Obi, then piss on @Tunde_OD you are a hypocrite. Also, this summit was in 2025.

“You said the man was too upright to take Nigeria” Said nobody EVER! He was seen as “upright” and that’s why we supported him in 2023, and now that he’s tossed that card into the bin, so have we. Nothing you say will make me support a party that has El Rufai, Atiku, Dino!, Malami!😂.

@Mimee_ilo @sheni_coker @rofffybaby So Atiku, Malami, Amaechi, El-Rufai & Aregbe suddenly became Obi's elder brothers didn't create slums. Or Obi himself didn't create slums. U're just a bunch of evil hypocrites. I don't blame ppl like u who only see success on TV, it won't be hard for u to try to pull others down.
