@EmployRightsIE Agree but since we didn't hit the streets to demand it and moved straight to the war in Ukraine, that was that. A grown up responsible country would still have done it but that's not us. However this is the last time they will get to do something like that. People won't comply.

Ireland had one of the most restrictive lockdowns in the world during COVID. It was the greatest restriction of constitutional rights in the history of the State. I believe the effects of that prolonged lockdown have had a lasting psychological impact on many people, and that some of those symptoms are only appearing now. For many who complied fully, it meant cabin fever, prolonged isolation, and an unnatural way of living. I find it bizarre that nobody is demanding a COVID inquiry into what happened in this country. There is enough data now to start forming conclusions, and there should be a serious inquiry into it.
