@gamray grief can play the most brutal of mind games even on the most pure hearted people. I was in your shoes not too long ago; it absolutely does not feel like those feelings will go away. They do not in totality but it does start to wane. He looked like a very happy guy.

I had spent quite a long time dreading the day we lost Colin, but christ this is worse than I dared imagine. Feels like nothing around here will ever be the same again - just this awful combination of overwhelming grief and guilt and regret.

I have a lot of trust issues when it comes to docs with my name affixed to them. So my boss has had a hard time getting me to give out work to support staff. but now I have 2 paras and a Discovery specialist. *And* they're competent. I caught my boss trying to hide a smile

I struggled with guilt for years after putting a dog down that I loved very much. She had cancer & one day started walking in circles that made her fall over & wouldn’t stop But some years later my uncle was in the later stages of cancer & he would often tell me how much he wished he was a dog so he could be put down. He pure miserable Didn’t feel guilty at all when the time came for the next dog. He was weary & frail, he was done. Fed him all the chicken mcnuggets he could eat & took him out for one more swim at the lake, tossed his tennis ball for him, he barely paddled a few feet, but he was happy. Then I took him to the vet’s office & let him curl up in my lap To die quickly & painlessly in the arms of your best friend has got to be the nicest way to go in all of eternity

How do you know when to put a dog down? Our husky is approaching 14 and has hind-quarter dysplasia, but has more good days than bad. He has always been food-aggressive, and lately has been eating lots of non-food items. He probably has Cushing’s and drinks an impossible amount of water, then recently has been peeing in the house several times a day. We have to pull out the floors in the entire house. On top of being food aggressive, he’s now totally deaf. I think he is unpredictable around children, and we have young kids. I’m worried that my decision to put him down is built around practical things like him destroying our house, which doesn’t seem ethical. But I’m also concerned that he is going to bite one of the kids. Is there some sort of ethical standard that I can tap into here? Feeling a lot of guilt but also would never forgive myself if he bit one of my children.

you're writing "goodwill letters" to debt collectors begging them to delete your $500 collection meanwhile i just made wells fargo pay me $3,000 to delete their own debt you're playing victim i'm hunting predators let me teach you how to make debt collectors your personal ATM: first, understand what these mfs really are debt collectors are minimum wage psychopaths reading scripts in a call center in phoenix they bought your $10k debt for $300 they're trying to scare you into paying they break federal law every 37 seconds and when they do... they owe YOU $1,000 per violation i've turned this into a fucking sport here's the fdcpa trap that made me $47k last year: the setup: got 23 collections on my credit (on purpose) all medical debt under $1k each waited for the feeding frenzy to begin these idiots started calling immediately the violations started stacking: violation #1: called me at 6:47am that's illegal (fdcpa says 8am-9pm only) $1,000 they owe me violation #2: called my ex-employer told them about the debt that's illegal (third party disclosure) another $1,000 violation #3: "you're going to jail for this debt" lmaooooo that's illegal (false threats) another $1,000 violation #4: "we're seizing your bank accounts tomorrow" illegal (they can't without court order) another $1,000 one phone call four violations $4,000 they now owe ME but here's where it gets beautiful: i record everything (legal in my state) i document every call i keep detailed logs i'm building a federal case after 30 days of letting them violate: average violations per collector: 7-12 statutory damages: $1,000 each typical lawsuit value: $7,000-12,000 then i strike small claims court filing: $50 serving them: $75 their panic when they get sued: priceless here's what happens next: their $500/hour lawyer calls me within 48 hours "let's work this out" my offer is always the same: "delete all tradelines from all bureaus pay me $3,000 for my trouble or we go to court where you owe me $12,000" success rate: 100% they ALWAYS take the deal why? defending costs them $5,000 minimum they'll probably lose (i have recordings) judge will award me full damages plus they look terrible in court so they pay me to go away last year's scorecard: collections attacked: 23 settlements won: 23 total cash collected: $47,000 credit score increase: 520 → 740 time invested: maybe 40 hours that's $1,175 per hour to fuck with debt collectors your approach vs mine: you: "please sir, i was sick, have mercy" me: "you violated federal law 7 times, pay me" you: sending certified letters that get ignored me: serving lawsuits that get settlements you: paying credit repair companies $2,000 me: getting paid $47,000 to repair my own credit the actual fdcpa violations they commit daily: - calling before 8am or after 9pm - contacting you at work after you said stop - telling anyone else about your debt - using profane language - threatening arrest or violence - calling repeatedly to harass - false representation of debt amount - failing to validate within 5 days - continuing collection after dispute - reporting disputed debt as valid each one = $1,000 they commit 3-5 per phone call it's literally free money the psychology that makes this undefeated: debt collectors are bullies bullies fold when you fight back especially with federal law they expect you to be scared they expect you to pay they expect you to beg they don't expect you to be taking notes documenting crimes preparing lawsuits when that lawsuit hits their desk: "fuck, this one knows the game" "just pay them and move on" "not worth the fight" every. single. time. current pipeline: 17 new collections im baiting letting them violate for 60 days documenting everything preparing mass lawsuit filing projected settlements: $85,000 by february the beautiful irony: they're calling to collect $500 they end up paying me $3,000 my credit gets fixed their business model gets fucked it's wealth redistribution from predators to players but here's the nuclear option: if they don't settle... we actually go to court judge sees: - minimum wage collector - violating federal law - harassing regular person - recorded evidence judge awards: - $1,000 per violation - emotional distress damages - legal fees - punitive damages i've gotten $27,000 from one collector who thought i was bluffing i wasn't your move: keep writing pussy letters begging for mercy paying for deletion or start hunting record every call document every violation prepare for war get paid to win this isn't credit repair this is credit warfare and collectors are losing reply w/ HUNT" and ill dm - the violation checklist - lawsuit templates - recording app recommendations - small claims court walkthrough - settlement negotiation scripts (must be following or you're prey not predator) ps - debt collectors reading this: i'm coming for you. every violation is documented. every crime recorded. your business model is my income stream. pps - collection agencies paid me more than my job last year. think about that while you're writing goodwill letters like a medieval peasant begging the lord for grain. welcome to the food chain you're either eating or eaten i choose eating every fucking time 🍽️
