@deriver69

I don't mind a debate. Lazy blockers who cannot engage in debate are not worth any of our time, let them rot in their echo chambers.

@JackWDart Reform seem to be winning ex conservative and ex Labour voters, which is inclusive not divisive. It's this not bothering to debate issues and lazy insults that does not work.

Reform UK were rejected by more than 70% of voters yesterday, and the media is treating the result as terminal for Labour while almost entirely ignoring the fact that most people said no to the hatred, the division and the bigotry. That is the actual story.

Why are people so thick? Local elections always are poor for sitting Governments. They are like by-elections. People use them to bring any Government down a peg. How many times over the last 14 years did the Tories lose councillors? Seriously, behave.

My Father fought in WW2, saw the horrors of Belsen and many other atrocious sights, please do not give fascists a foothold in this Country by voting Reform and frankly anyone above the age of 60 who would have had family involved in the war, shame on you.

I, a Liberal Democrat, just voted tactically for Labour to stop the worst, most dangerous party of my lifetime, winning in my area. Vote tactically today! Keep Reform UK out.

@StevieB09074258 They did call him out on his school friends but maybe you are like me and my family and friends. For some reason the media does not ask us what we think about things either.

@wendlingere49 Controlling the media so it supports the government is an idea that is done in other countries. We could become the next China then if lucky, or the next North Korea if not.

Lets NOT REPLACE KEIR STARMER, Lets get rid of Peston, Ferrari, Hodges, Paul Brand, Beth Rigby, & all the rancid reporters on GBNotNews.Lets try straight reporting for a change.Telling us what has happened in the news that day, without spinning it through a Partisan paid Journo.

@Whywickers @NewStatesman @likesretirement It is not ad hominen to think the winter fuel payment, NI rise, farmers inheritance tax etc. are bad ideas. He is being attacked for the policies not for him. His personal traits were actually quite popular at first after the maverick Johnson/Truss period.

@NewStatesman @likesretirement Mark is right. I’ve never witnessed such bias & ad hominems towards a PM from day one: the right-wing press, BBC’s senior editors, social media (worse PM since time began, etc). Every decision is deemed catastrophic as though the previous 14 years was Shangri-La.

Mark Gatiss: "I don't understand the antipathy towards Keir Starmer" The actor – currently starring in a play lampooning fascism – argues that the PM is doing a good job, but from the press he gets "you'd think he was Vlad the Impaler". Listen on the New Society podcast.

@JScott_Nottm @LilianGreenwood Absolutely. The "stunt" worked, and now it looks like there is something to hide and lots are caught in the cover up. I also find it bizarre when political parties accuse the other parties of being political.

@LilianGreenwood This is a disgrace. Whipping his MPs shows a PM that is running scared. If there was nothing to hide you would have voted for the PM to be interviewed by the Privileges Committee.

@NicholasTyrone I suspect this is an ideal outcome, especially if there was a thought the committee would not find Starmer had misled the house. Now it looks like a cover up and doubt remains.

I'm very much a believer in truth and transparency. I was thrown out of Parliament for calling Boris a liar. There are already 2 separate parliamentary processes looking at the appointment of Peter Mandelson, FASC and the humble address. We need to wait for outcomes.
Ed Davey@EdwardJDavey

Keir Starmer must give Labour MPs a free vote on this, not force them into being accomplices to a cover up. Even Boris Johnson didn’t block his MPs from voting for scrutiny.

I was glad to be in the chamber to cheer on @darrenpjones as he took on the opposition parties with skill, passion, and integrity. While they play petty, opportunistic political games, we get on with delivering positive change for the British people. x.com/darrenpjones/s…

We are investing in new rail, roads, and nuclear reactors.
New scanners for our hospitals and free breakfast clubs for our children. We’re not going to let the Conservatives - or their friends in Reform - tear that down.

@JenniferJS_ I think whipping his MPs was not a win. He should have said I have done nothing wrong and will prove it by referring myself. That would have been a win, unless he is hiding something.
