@SamaHoole I go with anthropology. Hominids ate raw meat as far back as 2.5 million years ago. They started cooking meat about 500,000 years ago. They started farming about 10,000 years ago. So we’ve been eating grains for about 0.004% of hominid existence.

@carnivore_jt I occasionally go to my favorite diner on Saturday morning and splurge on pancakes but always with eggs and bacon. Other than that, I haven’t eaten breakfast fast in decades.

I skip breakfast every day. Zero issues with adrenaline or cortisol spikes. No issues with blood sugar, appetite, abdominal fat or metabolic syndrome. Maybe skipping breakfast isn't a big deal after all 🤷‍♂️

I made my own lunch when I was in school. A thermos full of a nice soup. I preferred clam chowder (either Manhattan or New England). A healthy sandwich. I preferred olive loaf. And some fruit. I purchased the milk from the cafeteria. The school served the typical square pizza, hot dogs, etc.

Quick flying tutorial for those who get nervous flying. Turbulence is normal, expected, completely safe, and all aircraft are built for it. It’s not in any way, shape, or form, dangerous. It may be uncomfortable but that’s the worst that can happen. The pilots up front are constantly seeking “smoother rides” which is why we change altitudes fairly frequently looking for the smooth air. We’re talking with ATC, and other carriers, to search out the smooth air. Also, when we turn on the “seat belt” sign it’s to remind you to stay seated and to make the company attorneys happy. You never know when you might hit an unexpected pocket of rough air. I’ve flown through some of the worst turbulence you can imagine on several occasions. What we call “severe.” It’s not fun but it’s not dangerous. Pilots don’t like it either. But, you are safe. I promise.

I like to go old school. Oven stuffer as rotisserie chicken, after dinner pick the carcass clean. Crack the larger bones and make broth. Throw some meat, carrots, onion, maybe some egg noodles and make soup, any meat left over becomes chicken salad for sandwiches. At least three meals from one chicken. Nothing wasted. That’s how our ancestors did it.

I was embarrassed to post this because of how obvious it is. Homemade chicken broth is just chicken bones, water, and half an onion simmered for an hour. That's it. No stock pot. No culinary training. The $4 carton at the store is this with 15 additives and half the flavor. Make it once on a Sunday and it keeps all week.

I agree. I dated a woman with a young son who was the most picky eater I’ve ever seen. It was chicken nuggets or hamburger helper. Nothing else. So I made homemade chicken nuggets for him. Real chicken, breaded and air fried. I boiled mini elbows, browned some ground beef, made a béchamel, melted real cheese in it, and mixed it all together. He complained it wasn’t yellow. Tumeric to the rescue! Some parents are just lazy.
