Full support to Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar for staying away from these so called award shows.
Most people are unaware of how Dhurandhar 1 was treated before release. There was a clear coordinated wave of negativity from mainstream showbiz pages and media accounts all day to the point Yami had to step in and call it out.
Now that D1 and D2 are all time blockbusters, the same people suddenly want to be associated with it, handing out awards while knowing Ranveer and Aditya won’t show up just to play the victim about their absence. Lmao.
This duo not attending these award shows isn’t random. It’s a conscious decision to stay away from the same ecosystem that tried to write them off and unnecessarily target their film.

Extremely disappointed ( Not surprised) that most people who were nominated for , and also won the awards did not show up to accept. I am not surprised because in most award functions, those winning it know in advance and attend only if there are winning- Disappointed because - here #chetakscreenawards are trying to do something different, everyone knew about it, but they did not support. So it’s a fact that you are not one fraternity- you are the only one in your fraternity! But as @psinhajha says - Ayege- Zaroor Ayege - Hum Humara kaam karte rahege! Well good luck Priyanka !

I was never a Ranveer Singh fan. Loved his work but the loud personality, the over the top outfits outside movies was too much for me. Dhurandhar changed that.
And it got me thinking about how badly India treats his craft.
This man has played a street rapper, a historical emperor, a cricket legend, a Maratha warrior and disappeared completely into every single one. No two performances look like the same person.
When he locked himself in for Khilji and needed therapy, people laughed. Called it attention seeking. Even fellow actors took digs at him.
Heath Ledger does it, he is a legend. Ranveer does it, its drama and attention seeking.
We just aren't used to an Indian actor taking his craft this seriously. So we mock it instead.

I praised Dhurandhar because it was a very well made film and I enjoyed watching this brilliant cinema.
But when India is fighting with mass layoffs, energy crisis, unofficial high inflation and unemployment, our PM is talking about Dhurandhar to gain some votes in an election rally.
