@NetworkRalf @Cisco_Panther Interesting. My customers have a different experience with ACI. Perhaps they are not "stretching" it to its limit. And I have to ask, which are the standards-based SDDC offerings? I see mostly "ACI vs NSX" convos among enterprises in my part of the world.

@design4gh @Cisco_Panther Wow, having lived through ACI nightmares at a few companies - I’ll never go back. Fragile, poor code quality, tons of security issues, lock in. Why do you prefer it to standards based solutions?

@NetworkRalf @Cisco_Panther I agree with the spirit. But the reality: can you truly "master" any variant of SDx without some kind of vendor affiliation? And how r the non-proprietary offerings faring in the market today? Disclaimer: I'm biased. I'll select ACI in 99% SDDC scenarios.

@Cisco_Panther Agree completely- avoid being single-vendor focused and stay far away from proprietary lock-in technologies. (ACI and some SD-WAN offerings are worst offenders today)

@Cisco_Panther Depends how u see it. Technologies and protocols are simply "academic" if learned without some kind of hands-on practice or implementation (ala vendor affiliation). Cisco helped me understand OSPF better than most vendor-neutral resources out there (including the related RFCs).

Does anyone know where I can get resources on Cisco ISE? This thing is a beast and I am all over the place with it right now. I have been looking at some of @kmcnam1 youtube videos and it is helping some but still do not have a solid understanding of how it all works.

So why at all do we have #CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure AND CCIE Enterprise Wireless? Is Wireless not Infrastructure?

@landownunda Like the answer to every design question, I wu say "it depends". Your level of skills, exposure, and experience influence how long you spend on CCDE preps. But I agree, CCDP Arch especially is a good stepping stone.

Question for a #CCDE - Do you agree or disagree that chasing the CCDE certification without going through the CCDA or CCDP is harder?

@Cisco_Panther I like to ask CCIE candidates one question: do you want to HAVE a CCIE or you want to BE a CCIE? There's a fine line between the two. Having managed and employed CCIEs over a dozen years, I know how clear that line is.

@jfilliben @dyarashus Interestingly, even after I got my CCIE, I found myself having to read the CCDA because it was the only Cisco cert course that taught how to develop/write technical proposals. The exam was tougher than the NA too.

Back up on a regular basis. Scheduling routine backups can protect you from the unexpected. Always keep a few months' worth of retrievable backup #TechTips #Apotica
