It not 'my AI art' its 'our AI art' 'my AI art' falsely claims ownership 'my AI art' is not copyrightable (nor should it be) 'my AI art' does not reflect my skills 'our AI art'. Is a better description. As things continue with AI this distinction will become more important.

@ladrua @DarekZabrocki In the same way that legally a computer cannot claim copyright. Because its not a human. In the same way its illegal to harvest your genetic data without your consent. Because society chose to make laws to protect you from exploitation.

@DarekZabrocki Stealing... Inspiration. What is the actual difference? It is two opposite extremes of the same things imo. And legally I just don't see how it can be distinguished.

This should be on by default @ArtStationHQ . To other artists note you need to actively OPT OUT of having your work scraped to fuel the profits of Ai companies. Just because our copyright, and data protection laws weren't designed to deal with this use case doesn't make it ok.

@andrewpprice Science has chosen to restrict research in other domains. This is why ethic committees exist in universities. Ai generated art is the thin end of a very very big wedge that is only going to grow. All white collar and creative work will be affected.

I empathise and even agree with many of the arguments against AI. But boycotting seems futile. If you regulate it, you open the door to China. If you ignore it, you’ll be replaced by artists who know how to leverage it.

Hey @ArtStationHQ we absolutely need a way to filter the site so art directors and clients can more easily find art by people vs ai generated work. You’ve been too quiet on this issue, time to update the site!

I know this is a nuanced topic, with some art being completely ai generated, some hybrid work, and some created by traditional digital means, but it’s time to start having this discussion so the site can be as useful as possible to the whole community.

@Tocelot No. - Most costs go on marketing and distribution. - Content detail resolution is forever increasing. Ai is just tool, to keep up with ever increasing demands. - Ai is just another tool... requiring skill and understanding to control.
