In this video, I explain how Labor’s proposed capital gains tax changes could, in some circumstances, result in investors paying an effective tax rate of more than 77 per cent on their real gains.

@BrissyBitcoiner @theAmberApp You can use @lava_xyz card which allows you to spend stablecoins and get bitcoin as rewards in return. I am just testing it out for last 4 weeks and its working great while earning bitcoin back.

No way! This feature has finally come alive. Let's all check it out!
@theAmberApp, by any chance can we get a Bitcoin credit card that we can use to buy groceries by spending our Bitcoin directly instead of selling it and creating a CGT event? Or is it still going to be a CGT event?

Life is funny.
A few years ago I was working on a national tech transformation for a 5 star resort group, earning more money than I ever thought I would and sitting comfortably in the highest tax bracket. On paper, it looked like I’d “made it.”
Now I’m in the lowest tax bracket, working reception at a beachfront hotel in a small regional town, and I can honestly say I’ve never felt more content.
Turns out, I don’t miss the prestige nearly as much as I thought I would. What I love now is the humanity of my work.
I love welcoming tired travellers after a long drive. Solving real problems for real people in real time. Remembering the guest who likes extra towels, or the couple celebrating their anniversary, or noticing from someone’s micro expressions whether they want a warm chat or just a quick, seamless check in after a hard day.
The details matter. People matter.
There’s something deeply fulfilling about making someone feel genuinely looked after.
And when my shift ends, it ends. I don’t carry work stress home with me anymore. I sleep peacefully. I have a wonderful boss. My job pays the bills. I get time and energy to work on the thing I’m truly passionate about, the podcast. And every day I get to live beside the ocean in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
Funny how life works sometimes. The version of success I chased in my 30s looks very different to the version that actually brings me peace.
These days, I think wealth might just be sleeping well, breathing deeply, having time for what you love, and not dreading Monday morning.
Thank you, Satoshi. 🧡

Here’s the problem, Albo. Many of us sat down with our teenagers and tried to teach them the value of financial discipline: work hard, don’t waste money, think long term, and build a future by investing in the stock market — even if it’s something as simple as buying ETFs through CommSec. As parents, we felt proud when they actually listened and started seeing the rewards of patience, discipline and compounding returns. Then, you come out nowhere, imposing a 30% CGT floor that effectively destroys one of the key wealth-creation tools previous generations used to build financial security. These are not rich kids or millionaires. They’re ordinary young Australians trying to get ahead, save for a home, a family or simply some stability in life. That’s why so many of us are disappointed in you, Albanese. You’ve whacked the very generation you claim to care about and you’ve made their parents look stupid. #ASX #Ausbiz

Economics expert on the CGT changes
Leith van Onselen is one of Australia's most credible economists and a straight-talking critic of government policy.
In this episode, we dissect the Albanese government's latest budget and its real impact on inflation, housing affordability, and living standards. Leith explains why this isn't tax reform but simply a tax grab, how immigration policy is driving the housing crisis, and why Australia's productivity growth ranks among the worst in the OECD.
We explore the disconnect between headline GDP figures and per capita reality, the expansion of the government-funded sector, and what this means for future generations.

Most people think they’re bad with money.
They’re not. The ruler is being stretched.
I made the case for Bitcoin on TV today on The Daily Wolf on @YahooFinance.
Why inflation is a silent tax, why you shouldn’t have to become an investor, and why there’s finally an exit.
