@PeterObi I no fit laugh o.
All these on top ruling a country?
Nigerians don become wiser,no saints amongst anybody wey don govern in any capacity for this country before.
"Some men change their party for the sake of their principles; others change their principles for the sake of their party." Winston Churchill
Today, May 9th, I attended the 1st convention of my latest party, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Abuja, Nigeria. The convention was successful and continued to show the resilience of Nigerians to change
I express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to the NDC family, led by the distinguished Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, for inviting us and for the generosity of spirit with which they have accommodated us at this critical moment in our national journey.
I also wish to express profound gratitude to the African Democratic Congress(ADC), particularly Distinguished Senator David Mark, for providing a democratic platform and showing uncommon understanding when the ongoing litigation forced us out of the Labour Party and the New Nigeria People's Party, NNPP respectively. That spirit of solidarity must remain the foundation upon which a better Nigeria will be built.
Today, the most painful aspect of our political existence is that many who once benefited from democratic governance have now become willing accessories to the destruction of democracy itself. Those who once fought for justice now openly celebrate electoral injustice. Those who once spoke against impunity now defend coercion, manipulation, intimidation, and outright political gangsterism, especially against opposition voices. What we are witnessing is not politics; it is a systematic assault on democracy and the will of the people.
Nigeria today stands at a dangerous crossroads. Our democracy is under severe threat. Our nation is drifting without direction, and our people are passing through immense suffering. Across the world, Nigeria is increasingly described as a failing and disgraced nation. This is not the destiny God ordained for our great country. It was not always so, and it must never be allowed to remain so.
Across virtually every recognised indicator of good governance - accountability, political stability, rule of law, control of corruption, government effectiveness, regulatory quality, and the separation of powers - Nigeria continues to record alarming failures. The institutions that should protect the people are weakening daily, while the burden on ordinary citizens grows heavier with each passing moment.
Today, over 140 million Nigerians live in multidimensional poverty. Tens of millions of young people remain unemployed or underemployed. Inflation continues to crush families. Businesses are shutting down. Farmers can no longer safely access their farms. Communities live in fear. In this month alone, hundreds of innocent Nigerians have lost their lives to insecurity, while many others have been kidnapped, displaced, or thrown deeper into poverty.
The most heartbreaking question confronting us is this: Who consoles the grieving mother whose child was abducted on the way to school? Who speaks for the father who can no longer feed his family despite working every day? Who defends the young Nigerian whose dreams have been destroyed by a nation that rewards connections over competence and corruption over character?
Our present tragedy is not accidental. It is the direct consequence of years of deliberate sabotage by a political class that prospers by dividing the people and weakening the nation. Nigeria is not a poor country; rather, we are being looted into poverty. We have abundant human and natural resources, yet we remain trapped in deprivation because leadership has failed to place the common good above personal interest.
Our choice as a people is therefore clear: whether to surrender to despair and national decline, or to summon the courage to rescue our country and rebuild it on the foundations of unity, equity, justice, competence, and productivity.
@PeterObi Fear fear politicians always run away from their shadows, mostly when there's no credibility.
The fear of being floored by Atiku is the beginning of political wisdom to some who jump from one party to the other, like monkeys.
Let's call a spade a spade.
First agenda: Peter Obi has settled for a VP slot with Atiku and he's just afraid to inform his Obidients.
Result: False.
Second agenda: GEJ is going to NDC and he'll get the ticket. Seriake just played Obi.
Result: False.
Third agenda: Kwankwaso is currently fighting strongly to take the NDC ticket to the North.
Result: False.
Fourth agenda: NDC is not going to do zoning; they're keeping their primaries open.
Result: False.
Fifth agenda: Makinde is coming to ADC to become Atiku's VP. 2027 is already settled for Waziri.
Result: False.
Why argue with an Atiku supporter when you simply wait. 😂
@ondugbe@underworld_09 He's very good at causing confusion and writing useless propaganda.
His speciality is looking around for where people are being kidnapped and killed and attending burial.
@underworld_09 Social media president very unserious fellow lamba master jumping from one party to another, politics is about building bridges but Obi is here playing tribal politics
@HelenNDestiny1@underworld_09 Does Obi build anything constructive?
He's looking for a ready-made ticket since he knows he lacks political credibility.
A politician who is being misled to continue dancing the dance of shame round the village square by his Obidiots touts.
He will continue running.
@underworld_09 Po came to scatter ADC. What did he discuss with them before joining them. As anyone dey scatter others, so shall that person be scatter as well.
@frankwyte1982@underworld_09@atiku You are a political nonentity.
Do you think elections are won on X or some social media space?
I have always said you guys are street urchins with your irresponsible threats.
@underworld_09 The fact that you guys can't prevail on @atiku to step down means u can't be bold enough to challenge whatever the system throws at you!
Let me clear at this junction, if in the next 2-3days no direction, you guys will loose political relevance. You can take this to the bank!
We warned them the same way we warned PDP in 2022, but they have refused to hear. Now they're about to learn
What is coming is heavy o!!!!!
It will be a mass exodus✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
@desmond98232@ruffydfire Oga, e never reach insult... We from this part of the world are too quick to through or dish oht insults to individual.. The man didnt insult anyone while narrating what he felt he saw or knew. You could simply correct his mistake without saying someone is foolish.
We tracked the Sokoto Badagry Super-Highway from both ends this month, the Lagos axis and Sokoto axis.
On the Lagos end, the project is currently within Ogun State, stretching from Diya Gate, OPIC Estate, Agbara to Iyana Idoye, Lusada. Sparse work was observed at Odugbe in Lusada, Ado Odo/Ota LGA. The project terminated at Phase 4, Atan with only one side of the road under construction by Hitech Construction Company Limited.
At the Sokoto end in Illela LGA, work was ongoing, bush clearing, sand filling, and site preparation. On the section towards Katami, Silame LGA, Sokoto and in Kebbi State, some portions have been completed with concrete paving and solar lighting installed. Progress is uneven and slow.
Now here is what has been committed on paper, FEC has approved contracts worth N2.36tn for the highway since 2024, (N947bn for Kebbi single carriageway in August 2024, N456bn for Sokoto 120km section in October 2024 flagoff and N961bn for Kebbi second carriageway for August 2025).
Just 3 days ago, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu sent a fresh request to the Senate for a $516.3m loan from Deutsche Bank, the largest single external injection into this project yet.
But the Minister of Works, Senator Engineer David Nweze Umahi, CON admitted in February 2026 that only N210.31bn, 9.7% of expected 2025 capital releases have actually been paid to contractors. Contractors across FMWNG projects are owed N2.2tn for advanced work. Commitments on paper.
The total cost of this 1,068km highway alone is projected at over
N6.5tn, borrowed money, at a time when Nigeria already spends substantial part of her total revenue servicing existing debt.
We urgently call on the Federal Government of Nigeria and National Assembly to;
- Properly scrutinize every new loan.
- Release funds owed to contractors.
- Publish quarterly disbursement reports for this highway.
- Scrutinise the $516.3m Deutsche Bank loan terms transparently.
Citizens deserve infrastructure and fiscal accountability, not one without the other.

The Transformative Power of Sport
Sports have the unique power to forge identity and legacy. Iconic figures like Pelé and Plato - originally named Edson Arantes do Nascimento and Aristocles - carried names earned through athletic prowess rather than birth. This reveals a profound truth: sports are not merely entertainment; they are a crucible for character and excellence.
With this in mind, I arrived early in Ibadan today and observed the ongoing clean-up exercise. I parked beside the Lekan Salami Stadium, where groups of young people were actively engaged in basketball, lawn tennis, handball, and judo.
It was uplifting to witness their discipline and energy. Such scenes reflect progress and offer a powerful glimpse into the immense potential of our youth.
I made it a point to stop and encourage them because sports are more than just a game - they are a lifeline as well as a critical sector that deserves greater investment and support. For these young men, sports serve as a powerful engine for social mobility and personal reinvention. By instilling relentless discipline and teamwork, the field becomes a space where they can transcend their circumstances, sharpen their resolve, and transform their raw potential into a lasting legacy of excellence.
A new Nigeria is Possible. -PO
@ruffydfire We only talk of corruption pertaining the government when individually, sectors and other wise are corrupt in their own ways corruption is a mind thing let's change the way of our people by bring policies that we put them in check and compell them to work
@Chief_UcheOkoro@ruffydfire Hypocrisy at its best.
Those under the roof of ADC,your rescuers are the saints who built and cater for all Nigerians during their successive reigns in governance.
No wonder you were in stupendous wealth before Tinubu's government.
You dey dream.
No country rewards hypocrites, sycophants, and looters like Nigeria under Tinubu and the APC, this is a regime defined by corruption, nepotism, and a destroyed economy, with no credible economic policies to lift ordinary people. Until we reject this shameless circle of incompetence, Nigeria will keep suffering under irresponsible leaders like Tinubu and his APC cronies.
@ruffydfire It is even in Nigeria that a graduate of animal husbandry becomes unfortunate journalist and still supports those looters of the nation's treasury.
@ruffydfire You should be ashamed of yourself
Advising someone to remain at the party he built with his sweat and money, according to you,is now a crime?
Be a better critic, don't be a loser on all fronts,if you can not be a good journalist, please be a good critic.
JUST IN: President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, has been caught on video openly advising Leke Abejide, a key figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to remain in the party and “fight them… scatter them.”
In the viral video, Gbajabiamila, while speaking with Abejide, urged him not to abandon the ADC despite ongoing leadership crises and court battles rocking the opposition party.
“I know you to be a committed party man. I know you to be a fighter… So please, my charge to you is to stay in that same ADC. Fight them. Scatter them! Hold on to your party, ADC. Do not abandon them. We like what you are doing. Continue,” Gbajabiamila said.
He dismissed suggestions that Abejide should leave the ADC, insisting that the party belongs to him since he built it “with your sweat and your money.”
“Don’t mind them — the former Governor said that you should come and join… No, no, no. Stay in ADC. Win your election in ADC as you will. Bring Dada Gombe… Those of us in support… Do the right thing. You are a fighter,” he added.
Gbajabiamila further encouraged Abejide to fight in court to retain control of the party.
The explosive video has sparked massive outrage online, with many accusing the Tinubu administration of actively working to destabilise the opposition ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections. Watch the video in the comment section.

The news of the abduction of innocent UTME candidates in Benue State is not just heartbreaking but a damning indictment of the failure of leadership and the collapse of security in our nation.
Young Nigerians striving for an education are being met with terror. In a country where the share of tertiary graduates is already painfully low (about 1%) which is far below peers like Indonesia (about 13%) and South Africa (around 10%). This is unacceptable. We cannot afford to lose even one more student to violence.
Those entrusted with protecting these young students appear increasingly preoccupied with the next election, projecting strength and power to rig elections, rather than deploying that same power and agencies to secure our roads, prevent these crimes, and rescue the abducted children who should not be in the hands of criminals but in examination halls.
This is no longer an isolated tragedy. It is a pattern. It is a national crisis. And it demands urgent, decisive, and responsible action, not excuses, not silence, but leadership that matches the scale of the emergency this deserves.
A nation that abandons its youth abandons its future. This cannot continue.
A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
@PeterObi It is not about the collapse of the security architectures. it is about the evil ones amongst us,the sponsors, and proponents of terror who daily sabotage Nigeria and Nigerians with the sole intention of making the nation ungovernable and playing politics with people's blood.
