What’s funny is behind these tweets is probably a first or second-generation immigrant from these “clients states” (MEA) who not only milked the American system and who’s entire livelihood is centered around the ‘empire’ but also got their home countries destroyed by the very same ‘empire’. Why not stay in your ancestral homelands if you’ll end up playing ball? Why not rebuild your country? Why not move to Algeria, or Cuba or North Korea if you care about “client states” so much? Why the blatant hypocrisy? “Gulf oil monarchies” are indigenous emirate systems that have controlled and ruled their respective territories for hundreds of years before the arrival of Europeans or Americans. There is no shame in acquiring US defence, pegging our currencies to the dollar, and allying with America when it BENEFITS our people. When our people have a high life expectancy, when they have free universal healthcare, when they have strong passports and ease of travel, when they have world-class education and universities, when our governments INVEST in the people… so yes, we the GCC are proud allies of the West.
