Beck held us back last year. We don’t make it to the Championship without him but he missed a lot of throws & had some bad moments. The two bad games during the regular season & the fact that every game we lost ended on a Beck interception.

@devbascombe I agree Beck had his moments last year but literally every game we loss his decisions led to it... I will not take away that for the most part he played solid and managed the game well.

@devbascombe Was talking to some friends about how the last two years weren’t just some flash in the pans and that they’ve been building the trenches Its huge that young guys got significant playing time last year and having veteran guys come back who probably woulda left early in years past

@devbascombe A QBs performance cant be bad and make the Natty lol. That dont make any sense. Did he make mistakes YES every QB does though. This is dam good for a guy coming off a serious injury. Only thing maybe cut those INTS in half. Other than that it was good to make a natty.

@devbascombe @MiamiCanes1971 That's fair. I feel like the difference this season is we are set to be legitimately very good on both sides of the ball. Up until now, seems like every season either the offense or defense has consistency issues. Even last season, Beck was solid but very limited at times

@devbascombe 🤣 and won all 3 tough playoff games which made the run even sweeter. Played out perfect. Also when a QB comes through when "it matters most" tells u who he really is. That Ole Miss drive to win the game was a legacy drive.

As long as the offensive line is even halfway decent (it will be), this offense is going to be damn near unstoppable Pair that with a likely top 10 defense, and man it's really hard to envision anyone on our schedule besides ND even genuinely threatening us

@CIApiFL 2 things can be true at the same time. He had some bad moments & came through when it mattered most. Those regular season losses had us playing 3 tough playoff games. We could’ve used a bye week 🤷🏽‍♂️

@htxsavage58068 That was the reason for a lot of the early issues. No real issues with CB ever from me. I appreciate him because we don’t have that season with the other QBs on the roster. Yea I expect Mensah to light it up!

@devbascombe True but give him credit. He had no spring ball or summer to create chemistry with his WRs and he was coming off tbe worst injury a QB could have. Now that SD has a dynamic QB again Im expecting mensah to be a 4.5K yd passer w 45tds

@devbascombe Seriously man I had been thinking Dawson was just a Cam Ward Hero Ball merchant. This past season he proved he really does run an elite offense by pulling SO many huge scores out of his ass when the Beck system couldn’t do ANYTHING

@MiamiCanes1971 Yea, it was bad. Making the playoffs and the Natty run overshadowed how bad we were on offense overall. Those points we scored against good defense were schemed up by Dawson. He deserves a lot of credit for getting the most out of that offense.

@devbascombe The offense was absolutely anemic half the time during games because he couldn’t create plays. It’s a big reason we went from the #1 scoring offense and #1 total offense in 2024 to being well outside the top 25 in both in 2025
