Alberta’s classrooms are growing fast, and parents and teachers have made it clear that class size matters. That’s why our government is investing $200 million through a new Class Size Reduction Grant to help hire more than 1,400 additional teachers and reduce pressure in K-to-Grade 9 classrooms across the province. This builds on the largest operational investment in education in Alberta’s history, alongside 161 new school projects underway across our province. We’re taking practical action to support students, teachers, and families by improving learning conditions and ensuring Alberta’s education system keeps pace with our growing population. “Whether that’s making traffic worse, whether it’s taking away parking, whether it’s more difficult for senior citizens to get around, whether it’s for safety vehicles or emergency vehicles to be able to move, plowing those roads in the winter, there’s cascading of negative effects when you actually take away and limit a driving lane.” ctvnews.ca/edmonton/artic…

Alberta is expanding Whitemud Drive by partnering with Edmonton and Enoch Cree Nation. This project will add more driving lanes, improve intersections, and align with our expansion of Hwy 628 towards Stony Plain.

NDP leader Naheed Nenshi accused Premier Danielle Smith of being a “foreign agent” of Saudi Arabia. Although Mr. @nenshi has a reputation of being untruthful, calling your political opponent an agent of a foreign government is disturbing and dangerous. Apologize immediately.

BREAKING: A Presidential permit has been approved for a new bitumen pipeline that will initially deliver more than half a million barrels per day of Alberta oil to facilities and refineries throughout the United States. This project is a joint venture between two great Canadian and US companies South Bow and Bridger using existing assets. After years of advocacy from our government, and following the signing of the Canada-Alberta Energy Agreement last year, the federal government has lifted their oil and gas production cap. This means Alberta producers will be able to produce more of the oil that the world needs. It’s incredible to see that work already paying off with announcements like this. The US is our most important trading partner and we will continue to deliver energy to help secure North American energy dominance.

Alberta has officially raised the speed limit to 120 km/h on a 22-kilometre stretch of Highway 2 south of Leduc, marking the first time any Alberta highway has had a posted limit that high. The pilot launched Wednesday and covers both directions of the QE II near the Leduc Commercial Vehicle Inspection Station. If the pilot goes well, the government says it will consider expanding the limit to all rural divided highways across Alberta.

🚨BIG NEWS: Our government is raising the speed limit to 120 km/h on a 22-kilometre stretch of Highway 2 south of Leduc, starting today. Transportation Minister @DevinDreeshen launched the pilot with Leduc-Beaumont MLA Brandon Lunty. What this means for Alberta drivers: 🚗 Faster, more efficient commutes 📋 Common-sense rules that reflect what Albertans have asked for 🛑 Tougher fines for dangerous drivers who put others at risk Our government will continue to invest in our road network and deliver traffic rules that make sense for everyday drivers.

Alberta has been built by people who stand up for what they believe in. From farmers and ranchers to energy workers, teachers and nurses, Alberta is a place where people work toward something greater than themselves. This referendum gives Albertans a direct say in how we build on that legacy, and create a more sovereign Alberta within a united Canada. On October 19, Albertans will vote on nine referendum questions shaped by the Alberta Next Panel after extensive province-wide consultations. These questions focus on two key priorities: ensuring immigration remains sustainable and aligned with Alberta’s capacity, and advancing targeted constitutional changes to strengthen provincial autonomy and push back on federal overreach. Visit AlbertaReferendum2026.ca to find out more how you can shape Alberta's future.
