And I struggle to think the consequences of those choices bear 0 difference in the end

huh? Knowing the path in advance and having true free will are mutually exclusive. A movie is passive you don’t actually choose anything while watching. If God already knows every choice you will make, then your choices aren’t genuinely free, no matter how it feels. Free will requires that the outcome isn’t predetermined.

What opinion about religion would get you in this position?

He didnt choose anything for you. But at the end, he’ll know if you desired to have a relationship with him, and if you did, he’ll give you that

@KeithBos3 @amazingatheist Because my opinion that God created himself relies on the fact he created himself for a purpose, and then enacted that by creating the universe. The universe being nothing would have no purpose to create itself, because it’s comprised of no reason or desires.

@KeithBos3 @amazingatheist I believe there’s too many variables that worked perfectly to be random. Also I have a faith in my religion and that shapes a large part of my beliefs too. I really couldn’t tell you what has the bigger influence between the 2 on my opinion.

If not, I had a conversation and we couldn’t agree and that’s cool too. At the worst, all we’ve done is challenged each others beliefs and strengthened our own
