There was a palpable magic in the air yesterday at @solana Accelerate AI. The builders working on Solana AI projects are truly some of the most cracked and enthusiastic humans I have ever met. The genuine excitement and creativity was energizing. I’ve rarely seen people so engaged in the programming. It was standing room only for every presentation and panel. Solana has already proven that it’s particularly well positioned to support AI innovation and the agentic economy. After yesterday, I’m more confident than ever that not only will Solana be the best place to build with crypto and AI, it will be the category leader that sets the path and clears the way for everyone building at the frontier of crypto x AI. It’s also clear that the appetite for Solana AI events is very real. You can expect a lot more soon.

Dexter is finalizing a brand new, entirely non-custodial solution for @solana that does NOT involve locking funds in escrow accounts.
Instead, we've combined on-chain contracts with passkey authorization and battle-tested smart wallet standards. In doing so, we've found an incredibly clean solution that adheres to both the spirit and spec of the @x402 protocol (and @mpp, too).
This allows the remote form of OpenDexter to work seamlessly EVERYWHERE that supports MCP from Claude and ChatGPT on mobile/web to Bolt, Lovable, Replit, consumer AI apps, and hundreds of other major platforms.

Like during the advent of the web, so much of the early agent activity we're seeing comes from developers and enthusiasts who can navigate coding environments and know how to install NPM packages. That describes about ~1% of the world.
OpenDexter is available everywhere. It exists in two forms:
(Local) Run in CLI `npm i @dexterai/opendexter`
(Remote) Add MCP server open.dexter.cash/mcp
The difference boils down to, "Where does my agent's wallet live?"
The vast majority of agent interfaces today are limited to the CLI, so wallets are kept local (self-custody).
But that doesn't mean it's custodial-or-bust for remote solutions...

Tentpole 2: Interface for Agent Action
To transact, agents need to be equipped with a way to hold money, act on human intents, and spend it. OpenDexter is that tool.
Why 'Open'? Two reasons that its openness is a unique asset and a claim that only Dexter can make:
1) There are enough walled gardens with curated services for agents already. It shouldn't be up to us to limit your agent's capabilities to only those from our partners or incumbent web2 merchants.
Instead, we index the entire universe of x402, enrich and maintain data on all for quality control, and wire everything through so that your agent has all the info necessary to make informed decisions with your money.
2) OpenDexter is also open in the sense that we want agents to emerge out of the command line interface. Today's agents live in the CLI, but tomorrow's do not.
